Not really though, when you look at the requirements to actually display HDR properly. It's a bit of a lie. But all TV's do this.

'Maybe' your right. I went into JL and the sales advisor said he was getting fed up of people returning these sets and advised me to go for a hisense instead. Am just pondering whether to bite the bullet on this model or go for the 65" version m5500 / m5510 for an extra £50 decisions decisions !

Many people are complaining of judder on the 7000 see JL and AV forum reviews. And besides costs £250+ more (if your lucky)

i was trying to buy a Samsung ue55ks7000 over Xmas glad they were sold out as paying £899 for a first generation quantom dot TV that isn't right with numerous build and motion problems would have peed me off. the new 2017 range of hisense look good for me , better specs at a cheaper than Samsung price. I will buy one when they come out in spring.

Maybe the shops/samsung were very aware of the judder problems with the 7000 series and that's why they were so cheap over Xmas, trying to get rid of them and hope ppl wouldn't notice? Maybe?

Very hot as the panel is 10 bit (unlike other tvs that are only 8 bit) and you cant beat this TV on picture quality. Beats most flagship tele from big brands.
See the discussion forums on av forum and other websites :-)

No it's not, it's 8-bit+FRC, not the same as true 10-bit. Not that it matters in respect to HDR, it doesn't get anywhere near the 1000nits required. It's still a good TV but there is an issue with skin tones. I returned mine for this reason (and some bad bleed), as no matter how much I tinkered with the settings, I couldn't get it right across all sources. May be a firmware issue, but I wasn't going to chance it.

Same here. Almost took the plunge. Glad I didn't. The hisense will do for now. It's only got positive reviews mainly and costs ALOT cheaper.

from what I've seen people are hung up on if it's 10 bit or not, you can have a 10 bit panel but it doesn't perform well with HDR, it achieves only 420 nits well short of 1000 premium standard, you should look at the quality of the picture for which media you are using it for.

newer models (H9D) announced at CES2017 are offering brighter screens with motion240 and HDR 10bit for similar pricing. out in spring so not too long a wait.

Trying to decide between this and the 65" 5000 series.
I should probably go for this one as, as far as I've heard, ULED is almost as good as OLED.

Im having the same thoughts. This or the 65m5500 is it worth the £150 for bigger screen, I don't want it at the expense of a slightly inferior picture quality.

No ULED is a gimmick it's just LED whereas OLED is an actually tech.. Don't think they are comparable.

This TV is great, bought one on Amazon Black Friday event for the same price, unfortunately after a month it developed a cluster of dead pixels, so it went back to Amazon for a refund. If I find this dips below £550 I'll buy one as a bedroom TV. Very good blacks compared to my ageing Samsung Plasma TV. Screen is mostly uniform, HDR performance is a bit lacklustre as it isn't very bright. It has some issues with colour skin tones, where they are orange and there isn't much you can do about it, it might be a firmware issue or not.
Overall I was happy with the set as I said would still consider one, but I'm currently looking for 65" tv as I feel this is where I would get more for my money, as with 4K content it really is nice on a bigger tv.

Great price for a cracking TV. Paid £100 more for this last year at JL with 3 years warranty. Smart TV isn't as snazzy as the so called bigger brands but it is still very functional. Only gripe I have (and it is minor) is Netflix app doesn't support HDR. Netflix will address that at some point I am led to believe.

Also does anyone know the difference between the 55m7000 and 55m5500 ? The John Lewis website states exactly the same description. ( a lot of people are saying there is no YouTube and Netflix in HD available on the 7000 series) am thinking to order one of these but not sure which one to go for ( also the 5500 is about £100 cheaper) any help would be appreciated guys
Will RS price match this with the differing warranty?!

HDR itself is a bit of a lie, it's a mess at the moment no standardisation or control and tv manufacturers are taking advantage of the situation
