Been looking at getting one of these for a while and haven't seen them drop this low before.
Did weigh up alternatives but this seems the best value that meets my needs. The biggest weakness appears to be the non removable battery.

I experienced a problem with connecting to the camera from an iPhone SE so make sure you check compatibility. The iPhone 6 plus worked fine.

*Make sure the other person taking part in the 'session' knows you are filming it!

This doesn't make it cold. Yes its not as good but 4k will cost you. This is based on this model.

Is the GoPro Hero 4 silver better than this. Having no screen puts me off

A touch screen is a great addition. I couldn't do without it.

I have had a hero 4 silver since it came out and I love it! The only thing that is annoying is when in the housing you can hear wind and also if underwater it crackles.. however I think the hero 5 improves on this!

Yep, considered Hero 4 silver but its double the price. I'll be using the cam mainly for skiing and it will spend most of the time on the side of my head so the extra weight of the H4S (double when its in it's casing) made me go for the session.

Yeah, it's been £149.99 for a while. That was a very brief drop to £139.99.

Does anyone know if the session works with VW CAM CONNECT?

Refurbished Hero 4 Silver is £199.99 on GoPro's Ebay site. They were £180 for a while. I got one before Christmas and it was like new. Also got a "refurb" 60m housing from Amazon and that was still sealed in the original packaging ("new" ones have been either out of stock for months, or inflated prices). I wonder if the "refurbished" ones are old stock that they are getting rid of now that the GoPro 5 is out?

Anyone actually used this while skiing? I'm going on Thursday and I'm tempted. But then I'm also thinking is it not going to be really boring to watch after. Is it significantly better than using an iphone to film the odd few videos of me and the OH?

I haven't used it while skiing but have used it for cycling and I really like it, the raw footage is boring but with a little editing it's surprising how much more watchable it becomes. A few years down the line I think it's good to be able to watch the footage again as the headcam footage is a great way to relive the experience. I'm generally not a fan of GoPro as a I was burnt by the GoPro3 Black but I've got a couple of Sessions now which I like for their small size and simplicity, no dive cases or anything just pop them in and hit record.
