I noticed a few freebies listed for free short courses and I thought I would share this website.
It's similar to other websites such as Future Learn or Corsera except it's run by Grimsby Institute Group and the courses are actually properly accredited by a national awarding body (most appear to be NCFE)
Eligibility Although the courses are free for end users they are actually government funded and as such they require that you have been resident in England for 3 years, be over 19 years of age and not currently in receipt of any other form of government funded learning which I think is ridiculously broad eligibility!
Prior warning that I noticed at least one course had a clause stating that if the course was not completed then you may have to pay for materials which were provided for free (I think it was around £50)
***Edit*** Thank you to Vardre for correcting me that you must have been a resident in England for 3 years not the United Kingdom as I originally said.
***Edit*** As per email received from organisation it was confirmed that certificates are completely free on completion of the course and no charges are applicable for any non course completion. (see note on material costs though!)
These look like they could be handy for people in, or wanting to get into, that field.
Some of the online course providers offer "certificates" which are about as valuable as the virtual paper they are printed on, but this one seems to be genuine.

As there are accredited courses you will receive a certificate this may be at a fee, some of the courses are the same provided by Vision to Learn however for those you must be in receipt of some form of benefit. I ahve completed one off the list a few years ago.

That's my understanding as far as certificates go, I've not enquired if certifies are provided for free as I'm currently on a L2 Functional Skills Maths course so I'm not currently eligible but I think I might take them up on a couple of the customer service/team leading courses just because I think they will complement my current experience.

OP the eligibility criteria seems to be : resident in England for the last 3 years. Not UK. Thanks for posting.
