Great buy.
Defrost, cook, cut into portions then freeze individual cooked portions. Also freeze the resulting stock in small containers.
Then use for anything you'd use chicken for - soup, rice dishes, sandwiches, salads, meat and two veg dishes, curry, pasta, the list goes on.
We are still eating turkey left over from Christmas using this method. Had turkey and corn soup just yesterday.

Cooked or uncooked turkey can safely be refrozen, as long as you refreeze it within three days of thawing. But, you should only refreeze turkey, if it's been handled properly at every step along the way.
According to the USDA , Food Safety and Inspection Service, that means it needs to have been thawed in the refrigerator and that it can't have been left out at room temperature for more than two hours at any time. Turkey that has been thawed on the counter or left out for long periods shouldn't be refrozen. In fact, it shouldn't be eaten at all. It's better to waste food than to risk your health by eating something that may no longer be safe to eat.
Note that the turkey may be slightly drier when you go to use it. Each time you heat it up, you lose a little more moisture. But, that sure beats having it go to waste. Just add a bit of gravy or your condiment of choice, and it'll be just as good as it was the first time.
So tired of this "deals first, opinions later" attitude. Who bloody cares how many deals he's posted.

OK, you can freeze cooked chicken/turkey? I thought that it was a health risk to freeze cooked poultry? Do you then heat the cooked portions again once defrosted?
These were £4.80 in Swansea earlier this week but only 3 was left and I could not fit it in my ruck-sack plus I was on my bike. No idea if they had any more in.

Drattage, I'm one of those pesky Londoners, and it's not in the Sainsburys near (well, 20mins by bus) to us, and certainly not in the dismal Sainsburys Locals. Ace to those that can get it tho! Turkelicious!!
