Bring a tablet and pack it with a lot of movies or something that'll distract you!

But still posting on a deal that you admit you are terrified of. "ma-hoo-sive" panic attack seems like a bit of an over reaction like these morons on reality TV shows.
Good to know that the NHS is paying out for people that CHOOSE to go abroad on holiday or have a boob job and the increasingly common transgenger drugs and surgery instead of the cancer treatment that no one has a CHOICE about.
I think they should put a lot more money into mental health services to sort people's heads out. Self inflicted obesity, closeted gay and scared of flying can be addressed without going to drastic measures.
No doubt this post will get pulled but it's true. If I had a phobia, which is all a fear of flying is, then I'd accept it was my problem and I'd have to address. Not getting medication off the NHS because I was too lazy to address it which prevented me from doing things that are a CHOICE!!
I know people in wheelchairs who love going on holiday and it's an actual headache even getting on a plane. Ooh I'm terrified!!
Easy solution - don't fly. But equally don't whinge about it!!!!

If you feel that your fear is restricting you from going on holidays then something to consider is a fear of flying course, some airlines such as BA, Virgin etc run them
I was going to suggest the same thing. Also, do notify the crew in your case. I'm a flight attendant myself and we're more than happy to help pax like you.

The price of accommodation in the canaries is prohibitively expensive these days. Don't think anyone goes to Egypt or North Africa so the islands are fit to burst at winter

Yea prices have shot up in last year or 2.... need to get in very early to find cheaper accommodation.

I would definitely recommend checking out a fearless flyer programme to see if it would be something you'd be interested in, I have suggested to a few people before that dismissed it straightaway as they feel they're too bad to get over it but I don't believe that at all
There are still other modes of transportation to get on holidays but flying is almost always the most efficient especially for far flung destinations

Hey bevalor the first time I ever flew I hated it but believe me you are safer on a plane than on the ground a couple of things to remember before flying cut out caffeine and alcohol those drugs increase your anxiety big time. Hope you take the plunge and hop on a plane, good luck

The only one I know someone has attended was http://fearlessflyer.easyjet.com/ and it was a success for them
