I was looking today at flying Tenerife in March (with Thomas Cook) - found £33 return flight per person. Two adults plus baby = £88. Reserve your seats - extra £52. And if you want at least one bag - £25 each way for 20kg. Their hand luggage only lets you take 6kg.
So initial price looks good, but when you start adding the extras...
Good find, just not the cheapest airline when comes to adding necessary stuff.

Stupid question, perhaps, but why does reserving a seat cost more? I was under the belief (/misapprehension) that booking a flight automatically entails a seat being reserved for you?
As to the miserly hand luggage allowance; layer up all your clothes for the week. May get a bit warm, but no warmer than the rosey glow that'll come from the knowledge that you've just saved £25 each way!

You automatically get a seat. But if you want that seat to be anywhere in particular, like next to your companions, you have to pay them for the effort of getting their computer system to arrange this...

You're right and it is such ****. Booking at the same time would, you would think, autofill the seats in order. Waste of money imo reserving a seat.
