I mean yes I know it is the base game but the price is fair for anyone who has never tried it before. It is currently £8 from CeX and £6.99 from GAME for the same condition.

I can't agree the community is fantastic overall. There's a big portion of the community that's completely toxic

As someone that spent around a year never playing a different game I can't disagree more. If you have time to dedicate and fully embrace everything this game has to offer you will not find another experience like it on consoles.
Not to mention the community is fantastic and fully embraces new players from the off.

Like I say, I'm still trying. I'm sure they're both beautiful games, and I do love open world MMO-esque games like them. But I just for the life can not get into either.
Load it up and I'm all like...

You do realise this is just the base game, yes? It's also £8 from CeX and £6.99 from GAME in pretty much the same condition!
All jokes aside, this is probably all you'll need anyway. I have up to the Taken King on PS4 and Rise of the Iron on Xbox One, and they're all equally as boring as the base game, so you may as well spend pittance to find out
Heat added mate, second only to The Division in terms of a boring game (I'm still trying to like both, though)

I used to play Destiny a lot before poor health put a stop to it and I never went back when I got better.
Anyway, it's a really good game of you have some good people to play with on a regular basis. But you do need to sink a lot of time into it, doing weeklies and raids. It can get a bit all consuming. Sometimes I do miss it, it was good fun. But on the flip side, t means I have time to play a lot more games.

To be honest mate, I got bored of doing the same things at level 25 that I was doing at level 4, only with a different back drop. So I moved onto the Crucible, where I spent a lot of the time. I can't knock that part of the game to be fair.
I'm not saying it's a bad game, I know it's not. It just wasn't a game for me

This. If you're not a certain level with certain weapons. Good luck trying to group up with randoms for raids

This game is much better enjoyed in a clan, complete the story solo and then join a clan.
You clever dragon Matador scrub.

This is not the case anymore, join a clan.
The RNG is so much more forgiving now.

Bargain for the game. While destiny was definitely a let down in the story front (epic space story my ****), the raids were some of the most fun gaming I've had.
Division was just terrible once you hit 30. Zero endgame.

Fair enough mate. PvE is only good at end game when you're consistently raiding and hunting items other it is pretty boring just doing the progressive campaign

Joining a suitable clan isn't as easy as it sounds.
Besides that's not the only issue with the community. Visit the Bungie Forums and you'll see everything wrong with people who play. Sadly that translates into the game quite often and ruins it.

 I like messing around with random guns in regular crucible but when it comes to trials I need my full sweat loadout for those lighthouse trips.
I'm already in one but thanks for the offer, hardly play nowadays since this past SRL anyway. I just meant for someone new it can be difficult. It's hard enough finding people who will accept anyone new, but then you also need similar playing schedules and people you get along with.

I dislike the meta tbh, it makes things too easy. I quite like the no land beyond atm and side arm is my go to secondary.
Only ever got to the light house once lol.
The recruitment side of the forums isn't too bad imo but again the game is fairly old with only veterans paying atm.

I actually started up Destiny for the first time in like 9 months or something yesterday just to see what was in the tower for me - sweet FA.
I never bothered with the Rise of Iron despite owning it, got to 315 light and sacked the whole thing off. Saltier than a bath full of Epsom salts.
Same for Division, ranked to the top, got bored of the DZ, sacked it off after the first DLC again despite owning the DLC. Same for Battlefront, despite owning the season pass.
I did learn though and only bought the BF1 base game

Serious question but.. What were you expecting at the tower? You won't get rewarded in Destiny by not playing. Rise of Iron was actually really good. Like the others it gets boring quick but the raid and quests were excellent.

The current meta is bad you're right, but I personally think before clever dragon and the recent sniper nerf, it was as balanced as it's ever been which is what's needed. Although I seriously miss year 1, pre TTK meta. That was glorious.
I stay clear of the forums  I know that 100.io is a really good place for organising raids but I've personally never tried it.

The Taken King expansion was infinitely better then the base game. Not sure why you’d even bother picking up DLC packs or ‘complete’ versions for a so-called boring game.
In regards to the deal itself, good price for anyone just looking to have a try of the genre and feel the mechanics (which are pretty solid). Wouldn't expect to find many people to play with for endgame content though.

I haven't picked up any DLC for The Division if that's any consolation. I'm not sure why people are taking offence or seem confused by it.
It's purely a personal feeling towards the game. I'm not saying it's a bad game, I'm saying it wasn't for me. I'm sure there will be games I've played and love that you hate. It's all as subjective

I too was disappointed by the game! Played the beta on the 360 and was mesmerised by the gameplay. On release was so disappointed by the multiplayer and the content. But still have friends I met playing the game.

Just found it odd that you have DLC content for a game you don't like on two different consoles... although being an active HUKD user might possibly have something to do with that...
As for The Division, all I can say about that is 3 guys spraying bullets at two yellow bar enemies for 5-10 minutes until nearly all ammo is exhausted just to get shot a few times and die.

Serious answer...
In the past they've delivered loyalty bonuses for players or bits and bobs to spur people onward, like the spark of light.
Really I had 15 minutes spare so clicked on the icon on my Xbox One, which I haven't turned on for 3 months and is used predominantly as a Plex machine.
Since getting my PC sorted I haven't bothered with the Xbox at all, going from 144hz 1440p back to 720p at 30fps is awful.

I'm pretty active on the destiny Reddit and a few other sub groups and they're shining lights for this game. It's primarily the Bungie.net forums that I avoid.

Defo worth 4 quid. I picked up "The Collection" for £25 a couple of months ago and have Sunk 30ish hours into the game. It's only just started to feel grindy and it's been great fun.

Bungie.ner is a vile place. Reddit is fine when the game population is low, but before everyone stops playing it until the next update... Well I'm sure you've seen how salty that place gets. Then there's all the lfg sites too. I'm not saying the whole community is bad, but there's a big portion of it that is
Bure11

They do have some bonuses, but that requires you to be active on the game which is fair. You won't be rewarded for not playing in a long time. Sparks of light were not loyalty rewards but were given when buying the collections.
