Strange comments,
I'm sure most people on here eat ready meals, take away Curry's etc. , or eat in restaurants, and have no idea where the Chicken they are eating comes from. So baffled why it matters now. Also the majority of the frozen chicken portions sold in our shops is also foreign yet there seems to be a mass market for that.

Making overgeneralised derogatory comments towards people who originate from a certain place? There's a word for that...

11 Jan 1712#21
The same ones whinging about the country of origin are the same ones who immediately drop their standards in the kebab house at 3am after a skinfull.

I suspect Class A means fit for human consumption and Class B means dog food.

It is cheap hence I tried this chicken a few times (without knowledge or interest in its origins) and I too couldn't understand why it has an oddly tough texture and little flavour. Not good chicken.

Does Iceland sell Turkey that comes from Poland?

Would not surprise me. Bernard Mathews turkeys don't always come from Norfolk.

Quorn chicken pieces in morissons for £1/300g - I think it tastes better than the cheap chicken and it definitely soaks up flavour better. Also no campylobacter

I care about country of origin due to welfare standards. Also other countries use far more growth hormones etc. A lot of iceland food comes ready packaged straight from Asia. I worked in import control at Southampton docks!

OK then the questions would be what's the problem of ready meal packaged from Asia??

I personally only have locally sourced organic chicken which to be sure of origin, quality etc I get from my butcher.
So I think if your not bothered where your chicken is from and quality of life etc then go for this deal.

I do.
No chinese garlic. No israeli potatoes.
No water from half way around the world. No nestle products.
I'm not a tree hugger either. I just support my own economy first, and dont want to be poisoned by chinese products, and don't support ethnic murder of Palestinians.

I will certainly be stocking up the freezer..The same rules applies for animal welfare for all Eu countries. So don't think the chickens are treated any worse on the continent. Also British chicken has got a high levels of Campylobacter. That goes for all supermarkets.

Britain has one of the highest animal welfare rankings in the world. It's ranked A according to World Animal Protection. That's one reason to promote British produce.
Also claims state benefits back home for that matter

Yeh, let's buy Polish chicken. So much better to not buy British and not support our primary and secondary industries which support 000's of jobs nationwide. Definitely worth it to save a few pence.
Who cares if it they **** poor animal welfare standards, uses far more in energy consumption and carbon units in its transport to get to us and will likely be full of hormones and chemicals that are banned here.
When London eventually collapses as a financial centre there's not going to be too much industry left for this country to fall back on. LOL.
