This seems like a suspect device, particularly if you have stiff little fingers.

As a former comedian, I was also laughed at. Don't let them get to you.

Noisy is a deal breaker. I want to pretend my cards are being shuffled by a ninja.

If you check out Amazon reviews it seems to be hit and miss. I'll probably give it a try for a quid, assuming I can get one.

Useful if you have stiff fingers, like some stiff fingered people do.

We bought one for my dad a while back but it eats through batteries so quickly it's not worth the hassle. Plus very very noisy

These don't shuffle properly (but that's okay). You split the deck in two and it mixes them at random intervals. However the cards in each of those 2 decks will still be in the same order within the new deck you have formed.
So you need to put it through the shuffler, split the deck and repeat!
