arguable. every brand user will wax lyrical over whatever they use. e.g i would argue canon is best as their glass is generally cheaper for better quality optics. but i shoot canon...

It's never quite that simple with DSLR. Looking at camerapricebuster the most comparable Pentax models to this deal right now are the K5 II and K3 (the K5 UI being roughly £80 cheaper, the K3 being £80 more expensive). The cheaper K5II has better dynamic range and ISO performance, as well as in-body image stabilisation as advantages, while the Canon has a superior autofocus system for tracking, the flip-out touchscreen, a far superior selection of native autofocusing lenses and generally far superior video performance. Meanwhile the pricier K3 keeps the image quality and stabilisation benefits, but gains superior tracking autofocus and continuous shooting speed. The Canon keeps its video and lens advantages though.
Basically you just need to decide what you want from a camera then look at the options at your price point
If that's genuinely what it says, then it's a really stupid thing to say.

In the free Harvard photography course, the lecturer says that it's probably best to stick to Canon or Nikon:

This one of the 750D at £659?

The 70D is superior in every regard besides the modest sensor improvement in the 750D. And if absolute image quality is the primary concern, I would sooner pick up a modern Pentax, Nikon, Sony or Fuji camera which are even further ahead.
Opening post
I believe the promotions ends 31st this month, but could be sooner.
