Keepa - Amazon Price Tracker, very very useful addon, as for this deal i'm in 2 minds of getting it, i'm running 8gb of this DDR3, with intel 2600k, getting old now, thinking of building a upto date intel this year i think like a Kaby Lake, so not sure about upping the memory in this machine would be a backup machine if a new build comes along.

If you're not doing the likes of video editing then I doubt you'll need more than 8GB. Even for gaming 8GB is still ample.
Saying that this is a good price for RAM and you could probably sell it for similar money when it comes to upgrade.
The 2600K is still a great chip. Loads of life still left in it although I know too well the feel of the upgrade itch

its good ram. I used it and it can be overclocked to 1866 MHz also if someone interested. I run it over clocked for a week before selling and it was very stable in my system. my opinion its better than the 1866mhz Ram.

Yes i have noticed the price hike of most of computer components since around july time and this ram in particular, amazon had hiked it big time on the 12th, then dropped a bit day or so later, but still expensive even with this so called lightning deal, in the end i never bothered with the purchase, i've decided to wait and add the cash to the next big upgrade like a new system build, possible Kaby Lake but i think i may go with the Skylake.

Crucial isn't great ram IMHO, budget for a reason. Corsair, Kingston or GSkil far better.

Micron Technology (Tier 1 manufacturer) owns Crucial Technology.
They (premium overclocked memory modules) all use Micron memory chips, they pay a premium for the best silicon chips Micron make.

I know what u mean but my 2600k OC to 4.2GHz undervolted, got a Samsung 850, don't do games. Stuck 16GB (2*8 ) 1866 Crucial tactical(?) in for £52 just before Christmas - Didn't need it but what the hell and 1.5v as opposed to my 8gig Kingston value OC 1600 @ 1.63V.
It would so much £££ to upgrade and I would not get much from it,
Plus there is the free Win 10 issue.
@red_me765 Kerby lake chipsets don't support HDMI2/whatever the copyright protection is, without the MB maker adding something - Or something like that.
