Just tried this for the first time this morning. The hype is real! Tastes very much like cravendale semi-skimmed milk. Now that I know I'm saving on fat consumption here, I'm gonna start having an extra slice of chocolate fudge cake in the evening to restore the balance :wink:

99% fat free milk, that tastes like 98% fat free milk. "Hype" is certainly the right word.

if you look at the profile of this it's pretty much 1:1 carbs to protein and pretty much no fat.....quite simply it's could be the UK's cheapest post work out ready to drink protein shake.
I think it's good value at £1.50,
at £1 it's an absolute steal.

I switched to this recently, and I really like it (I used to buy Cravendale S/S before). This is also £1 in Sainsburys. Good post OP.

Not sure of the exact order of processing when the milk gets to Arla's dairy at Leeds but, like all milk, the butterfat will be removed ... & then added back at the specific % rate required - 0.4% in this case.
Extra milk proteins are added to Arla BoB milk to give it the creamy taste - that skimmed milk doesn't have.
Arla BoB milk has also been through the "Cravendale process" - extra filtering to remove more of the (harmless but milk souring) bacteria - so it stays fresh for 28 days unopened & 7 days opened!
Btw. We are Arla dairy farmers - the milk from our cows goes to Arla's Leeds dairy & there could be a few drops in each Arla BoB bottle! :wink:

Arla is a farmer owned dairy cooperative.
Cravendale, Best of Both (& all Arla dairy products) are owned by the dairy farmer! Arla is a dairy cooperative & so all 'profits' from sales of our milk products are returned to us, as our milk price!
We are very proud to be Arla dairy farmers.
Clever marketing, means Arla can sell the high value cream separately, but not for me.
I'll stick to minimally processed whole milk.

Our milk price is made purely from the sales of our dairy products.
The sale of our milk purely as standard milk (cheapest I've seen in a shop is 43ppl :confused: ) does not always, after processing, bottling & transport, leave the dairy farmer with a return that will cover day-to-day bills and something for re-investing in improvements, etc.
I've no idea, in the case of the 43ppl milk what the farmer was actually paid ... maybe the processor sold it at a loss to maintain the farmers milk price ...? :neutral_face:
By being farmer owners of the cooperative Arla & developing new products like BoB, we hope to add value to our milk & therefore improve the milk price we receive for it.

We've been getting this Arla BoB milk recently and it is nicer than skimmed.
Knowing the farmers are paid fairly for it makes me happier to buy it as well! It's not exactly expensive.
Interesting our Sainsburys seem to have upgraded the Arla from a few rows on the shelf upto a full cage, so must be doing something right!

1% milk is a £1 for 4 pints in Morrisons (orange top), has been for years.
This is worse value. You're just paying for a brand name - added protein = marketing cobblers
