WHAT IS ALUM The alum is a 100% natural dried crystal mineral of (potassium) alum. It is the original antiseptic aftershave which contains mineral salts that were originally used by the Egyptians more than 4,000 thousand years ago for its healing and antiseptic molecules inside the block.

apparently these sticks, while working out more expensive, are more concentrated so more effective at stopping the bleeding on small cuts and more portable so you can take it out and about on walks for ease

no indication of size/weight, 10g? 12g stick.
if i was going to get something like this, i would buy a bigger block, the same as i buy 100 blades instead of 5.

I just use a styptic when I nick myself shaving - just on the actual cut. Then leave it for a while then wash off. My stick is (probably) a minging 30 years old (or thereabouts).
Just wet the tip of the stick dab on the cut area, rinse the end of the stick and allow to dry.

As already said full block is probably better value, and will last for a long time.
