Which works out a tiny bit dearer, but still cheaper then the normal best price .
5 x 300g (1500g) = £3.95

I had the 'chicken' pieces and they're really bland. Not even my cats would eat them.

Yes because the idea is you use them in sauces, stir frys etc.
Bits of real chicken on their own are bland too.

I think it's more I don't want to eat a poor defenceless, badly treated sentient being, reduce my footprint on the world and improve my health.
Not that I didn't like meat, it was nice but the substitutes are perfectly good enough and they contain fibre which is just as important as 'protein' which everybody bangs on about but is contained in virtually every food product.
