2gether excludes quite a few scenarios from its cover, but will happily charge for them e.g. post road traffic accident assistance/recovery; post incident assistance/recovery; post fire / flood / vandalism assistance/recovery. Usual proviso to check what is included with any insurance policy to ensure it meets your expectations.

If these are excluded I wonder what a 'breakdown' policy would include :-)

Because these are what you would normally have with your car insurance as they are not breakdowns.

Specifically: mechanical and electrical failure. Here's a sample of RAC exclusions: "If the vehicle cannot be driven as a result of a road traffic accident within the territory, we can arrange for the recovery of the vehicle up to a maximum of 150 miles as measured by us from the location of the road traffic accident for an additional charge (as the membership does not cover attendance for a road traffic accident, fire, flood, theft or act of vandalism). The charge for this service will be agreed with the member or the driver (as applicable) when they request road traffic accident assistance and before any costs are incurred. This charge will vary depending upon the level of assistance required. You will be liable to pay the road traffic accident assistance charge within 180 days of the recovery, in a single instalment."[/quote]

Joined feb last year and needed assistance for 1st time on 30 Dec, waited for 10 minutes for them to answer then put through to
Operator who needed all relevant details - as i had to alternate getting details from my phone and talking to them, they impatiently cut me off!!
Waited another 10 minutes with no one answering so made other arrangements to recover vehicle!!
I will not renew nor will ever again go with a small time recovery company!! You get what you pay for and id strongly recommend you give these a wide berth - appalling and impatient service

Not meaning to hijack the deal, however I am with Start Rescue and they have been nothing short of impeccable. Have had to use them twice with no complaints (go via Quidco for an even better deal).

Just signed up with Start Rescue. All seemed to go fine. Saved £47 on Green Flag quote for same cover.
Thanks for the post.
