Most retailers don't pay cashback on VAT but I can confirm coolshop not only pays cashback on VAT but also they pay based on the original price of item even if you use discount codes and/or your loyalty points.

Probably gonna make myself look a fool here, but isn't cashback based on the pre VAT price, so it would be £7.32 back? Heat added anyways

I've never known that to be the case. For example my last two Argos cashback amounts tracked at the purchase price...
I guess they could alter, but I've never personally known it.
