Either these have really gone up since I got mine or this isn't much of a deal at all but I got a re certified 3TB for £45 some 8 months ago. I know this is brand new (but who cares so long as it works) and has an extra 1TB but at nearly double the price for only 25% more space doesn't seem like deal of the year somehow.
Not voting cold in case HDD prices have gone up in general and this is a good deal now but not voting hot either as it still seems pricey to me in any event....

What's the difference between Elements and the My Book line, reliability?
I checked my Amazon history and I bought 2 x 6TB My Book's for £150 each a few months back.

A lot of people are of that opinion, but I've had plenty no problem and with new ones this pricey even on offer it isn't hard to see why I would do so. These days not everything stored on a HDD is mission critical stuff you know. I use them with consoles like Xbox and Playstation where all the saves can be backed up to the cloud and all purchased games can be downloaded again if anything ever goes wrong. For this kind of use where data loss is almost impossible thanks to automated online back up they are perfect....

Hard drives seem to have really gone up in price, no idea why. There are no floods in Thailand this time so no excuses, its a rip off
