Viewsong Monitor has 75hz response time vs 60hz on the LG
1ms on Viewsonic vs 5ms on LG
Displayport on Viewsonic and non on LG.

LG will have better colours because its an IPS panel vs TN. Depends what you want.
Viewsonic will be better for FPS games.

IMO £96.18 vs £132.99, i know which monitor i would pick. I personally have a 144hz 24" and 27" AOC Monitors but the price for the Viewsonic with Freesync and 75hz is a steal for any PC Gamer.

If your needs are gaming, then this ViewSonic appears to be a very hot deal.

If you want for general use and some gaming as well, then you might want to consider an IPS monitor. The LG IPS monitor you have listed seems fine but better spec and value for money for 24 inch screen can be had. Here is what I just purchased:

I have to agree with the comments re-IPS. I have just changed over to an Acer 24" with IPS and connect via HDMI from a 19" VGA. The most pleasant aspect is when watching Football. With the old monitor I used to get a lot of screen breakup and stoppages but with the new monitor this has disappeared totally.

Depends on your current GPU and if you're going to upgrade anytime in the foreseeable future. Unless you have a Fury and/or intend to upgrade to whatever top end GPU AMD releases next, it's unlikely you'd be able to get a sustained fps much higher than 80-90 in most new games. Of course, if you're playing CS:GO or similar and need the maximum fps you ought to wait for a 144Hz model.

Personally I prefer IPS tech but this is a good monster for ultra competitive gamers

Hi. Computer man here.

When looking for a monitor you want ideally, top to bottom of importance:
The highest refresh rate possible (from 60hz to 100hz is noticeable, 100hz to 144hz less noticeable. You will notice this even even on windows mouse smoothness.
Resolution, either 1080p (normal office use, low spec gaming pc) or 1440p (normal office use, high spec gaming pc) or 4k (not for gaming and imo windows does not deal with it well enough yet. Useful for design or future proofing)
An IPS panel (better colours, better viewing angels, worse response time) instead of a TN panel (faster response item, worse viewing angels, worse colours) unless you want it for ultra competitive gaming and the better response times.
Gsync/Freesync if you do gaming, gsync for nvidia graphics cards, freesync for AMD graphics cards. It removes screen tearing in games.

IMO this deal isn't a "gaming" monitor as it does not have 144hz however, for the price (144hz would be £200+) it's on the price level with 60hz TN monitors.

Hmm, bought the HP Pavilion 24xw for £99 from Currys, now I think if I should get this instead.
The reviews look good + red that the 75HZ makes the games look very smooth + Freesync and I own a RX480 8Gb Nitro+

The Philips is still working fine but I doubt it will last too much longer as it gets used everyday.

I'm running two of the LG 23MP68VQ. Excellent monitor and colours!

Freesync is through HDMI, which can be troublesome if your card only has one port which unfortunately my R9 390 has.

But using ATI Pixel unlocker I've got the second one using a DP->HDMI active adapter running at 75Hz. :smile:

Is this any good for nvidia cards?

Can this be overclocked, or is 75 the maximum?
