I have one of these, the biggest issue I have is the Ethernet connections and power connection are on opposite sides of the unit. I would have liked them to be on the same side.

Too right. They all seem to be set up for an IT environment, I know this isn't as big as a rackmount one but why do they always have all the cables at the front. Unless it's a full size one in a rack I think most people would prefer all the cables hidden at the back. I'm currently using a TP Link one where the power cable is on the side which is better would prefer them all at the back.
Definitely a niche for the home market where they all are hidden neatly at the rear. Anyone seen one?
Just as a head up, i have a few of these and they are great, however i had an issue when i got both a new one and new router where everytime any device connected to it it crashed my router, spent hours going through router settings and Google looking for solution, in end unplugged it/power cycled and issue went away just incase anyone has same problem when they fit it! Never happened since but lost about 2 days of my life messing with it!

Possible loopback on the network.
Another vote for a greater switch.

Not well up on these... Could I run an Ethernet Cable to this then spur off to four devices? Ie - TV - HTPC - Fire TV - Now TV
Cheers in advance

Great price! Needed one of these for the ever growing number of devices in the man cave, heat added.

could anyone explain why this would be useful for my setup? 3 floor house, ethernet on ground floor, with ps4 and TV in another room, office on 1st floor with a PC. then top floor has a kid's room with a PC.
at the moment everything runs on WiFi.

You can have 7 of your home's devices on a wired connection rather than all hogging WiFi.
You'll need to run cables through the house to do so but a wired connection is faster and more stable than WiFi.

Short version is it wouldn't be helpful on its own. Think of this as a 1 to 7 multiplier for ethernet connections. Now if you were willing to run cables in the walls of your house then maybe this could be useful, run one cable from your ground floor to first floor then use one of these to multiply it for the devices on that floor, do the same for the second floor.
