Toshiba P300 High Performance 3TB Internal Hard Drive (Bulk) 3.5 Inch SATA - HDWD130UZSVA
Not a big fan of Toshiba's but after reading recent reviews it seems that they have improved their build quality and QC
Please be aware that this comes without retail packaging

Cheap, but these do get terrible reviews. Annoying as this is a good deal and I need a 3/4TB drive but it's not worth the risk (to me)

I always buy best quality hard drives, cheap ones just not worth the risk. Unless you use it to store non-essential gaming/movies.

As these are bulk non retail drives do they still have a 2 year warranty?
Personally I'd avoid if in oem packaging they'll be a real pita to meet transport requirements if you need to make warranty return outside of Amazon. Price is OK but I'd still rather pay a little more for a longer warranty & a non oem drive.

Had a nightmare with the 2tb toshiba's, 1st one was DOA, got that replaced and the 2nd one lasted 9 months and the 3rd one lasted another 6 months after that. Gave up in the end, they didn't have a RMA process in the UK, it's just 1yr with the retailer.
Not a bad price, but personally I wouldn't touch another Toshiba

Out of 4x 3TB Toshiba's i've ordered over the years i've had 2 with problems
that said 2 were shipped by a complete moron who thought hard-drives bouncing around in a box was a good way of shipping them 1 was DOA, just crashed on spin up
another developed bad sectors after a year or so (probably the second one that was in that shipment but could have been the replacement for the DOA one didn't keep track)
That said this is abusing the absolute hell out of them running them 24x7 in my Nas/Server
My oldest p300 has 22k poweron hours
then the others have 5k and 2K respectively
The one with 5K would be the replacement for the one with bad sectors, the one with 2K power on hours was a more recent addition and was to compensate for the loss of space when migrating from BTRFS raid5 to raid1 (BTRFS raid5 bug)

Bought this is August for £72 and it arrived dead however Amazon had a new one sent out the next day. Can't fault it and you get what you pay for

I don't like to buy hard drives from Amazon anymore!!, very poor packing of harddrives i purchased two of these harddrive 1 died within a couple of weeks because Amazon just don't know how to pack hard drives, these are at the same price on ebuyer however they know how to package a hard drive!
I'd rather buy it and return to Amazon than risk dealing with ebayer

WD 1TB Black cost around the same price with 5 year warranty, these Toshiba drives are cheap for a reason.

I've got 2 Samsung drives, a Seagate & a western digital all have been in an HP microserver N40L since I bought it not one of them (touchwood) has had a problem, well storage spaces retired one once but quick bit of CLI & that was sorted. All power management disabled drives spinning 24/7
Sometimes I do wonder if the power saving features do more damage than the power they saves worth.

been using 2 of the 2tb green low energy drives for the last year, no problems what so ever, cant comment on the red ones, but I wouldnt think twice about using them, the low energy ones are amazing
