Good price. There's a demo of this on steam if you want to try it out / check your PC is up to it.

I'm struggling to get into this, loved Doom 3. Does this even have a story?

It's more about the speed, awesome combat soundtrack and crazy finishing moves as far as I can tell; get your chainsaw fuelled up

Not sure if this is a joke or not  Doom 3, a pretty good game in it's own right, took the series away from it roots. Doom 2016 is very much a return to form. I believe if you read the codex entries they've cobbled together a story in there somewhere. But if story is what you're looking for you'll be disappointed. This game is about gunplay which it does very, very well.

A good idea for most, this game made my HD 7870 Tahiti redundant

When you put it into that perspective you're probably right. I loved Doom 3 but this does go back to the original which is get dropped in the middle of nowhere. Tons of ridiculous guns. Kill anything that moves. Going to give it another try!

It's well worth it although the install is getting massive now! The guns are great and the super shotgun is as glorious as it's ever been upgrade it and do it's challenge as soon as you get it .
Some basic tips:
Keep moving. Standing still is a quick death in this game.
The shuffly possessed people are worth keeping alive in the big fights for health/ammo when you need it.
Similarly save your chainsaw for when you are low on ammo and then stagger the biggest enemy you can find before chainsawing it for ammo Christmas.
Upgrade your ammo first then your health.
Upgrades on the right side of the weapons are generally more useful but if you do most of the level challenges you can upgrade everything anyhow. Go with whatever seems more fun to you.
