Return and re-purchase for lower price, if you can be bothered with the hassle..

I really hate Zavvi and their Steelbook exploiting. I remember coming out of the cinema after watching the Force Awakens last year and seeing an email from Zavvi about this exclusive 'limited edition' super duper rare special edition limited print steelbook, receiving constant emails that they were almost sold out and a year later they still have stock. I know there was a lot of fiasco with them, as a lot of customers cancelled their orders, but still.
Came out of Rogue One last night with the exact same email. No thank you Zavvi.
They've really killed the market and I will not purchase another steelbook from them. Regardless it's a good price for collectors, much better then the £24.99 they were asking for pre-orders, so I've added a little heat.

Yeah, zavvi are pretty much scumbags when it comes to steelbooks. Also, it's obvious that they ask studios for the cheapest possible steelbooks (judging by the constantly horrible quality of their exclusives), then they try and make 300% profit from collectors.
This particular steelbook is worldwide, so this one's Disney's fault - but Zavvi have done their bit to ensure standards have slipped for steelbooks generally.

Couldn't agree more, i remember buying 2 Captain America steels for 15 quid each from HMV and as a real limited exclusive within 2 months i sold one for 70 pounds on ebay as they always sold out being limited. Play.Com's limited Gladiator steelbook same price sold for 88 quid when OOS. Zavvi's limited exclusive number must be 20k as apart from Marvel movies like Thor, GOTG, etc they never go out of stock. I stupidly bought The Force Awakens for 25 pounds, seeing this price i also blanked their " Limited " Rogue One.
Like any flooded commodity market they sadly have killed the resale trade in bluray steelbooks as apart from rare prints exclusives are now anything but!

I ordered a bunch of stuff and got 10% off, so it actually cost me £16.19. For £3.20 (so about £2 after postage) I don't think I can be bothered to return and reorder. Sometimes you buy at the perfect time and other times not - just one of those things.

Also worth noting that more recent re-release has additional extras (i.e. commentary etc.)
Zavvi really do milk these steelbooks...

Great price. Managed to get the US BestBuy steelbook imported, which has the title on the front and on the spine, AND came with an additional digital copy which I redeemed on my UK Google Play account without issue. Came to about the same price as this was originally IIRC

Zavvi is rubbish, but on the other hand I still need to get this on blu and the steelbook is mighty pretty so cheers!
PS - Love that shot above...strange it didn't make the final movie I believe...
