Smoked Garlic Bulbs just 62p each at my local Morrisons (Worthing).
Brings me right back to French Supermarkets, even recognized the smell before I saw them.
Not really something I have seen anywhere else aside from some Farmers markets or overpriced specialty stores and for 62p its worth it!

They tend to stock these in the posher Morrisons as I have picked them up in the Gamston one before (couple of years ago)
Non round my way last time I looked but I will check next time i'm in.

Tesco used to sell these a little while ago, never seen them anywhere since. Love smoked garlic!

it's all a bit pointless as once you peel it you've thrown the smokey flavour away

Absolutely right, it's a con. I bought a load of these a few years ago when the Sun were doing a mega deal on veg with Morrisons and they just taste like normal garlic once they are peeled.

I tend to use the whole bulb including skin for more flavour.
Stick it in a chicken and roast or *my favourite* trim the top so the cloves are exposed a little, roast with a glug of olive oil and then spread on toasted bread.
Although really to main reason for buying was purely the smell <3

It looks to me it is a cheap initiation of black garlic
