I personally wouldn't buy any tele without a warranty, I've had two brake on me in the past 4 years and I look after my stuff so its not me. The screen went twice.
My friend also had a fault on his 65" he bought recently... Guess they don't make them like they used to!
12 month warranty is no good, you'd want 5-6 with something like this

I've got two Samsung's developing horrible purple blotches.. don't think I would ever buy one again.

For 10% of the purchase price you can purchase an extra 5 yrs warranty which is refundable if no claim has been made. You have to be organised though as you only have 1 month to claim the refund.

My mates just literally been on the phone hes just bought a 65" and its got like burning ghosting on the screen, said he's rang RS earlier and they said all the big screens do it! I'm going round now to check it out and give him my opinion... Hes been told he can get a refund on it and they said if he got another that would do the same! Think he paid £1250 on a Black Friday deal.
My Tv was LG that did the screen failure, they fixed it and happened again so just said I could have a like for like, I put a little extra towards a 55" and touch wood its been fine apart from my 3d stopped working, which is a common fault on Samsung.
