Yes, the itv hub app seems only to work on and off, I don't know if this is a TV issue or an app issue or just an itv issue. However when it doesn't work I switch onto my now tv box and run the app through there and it works fine.

I got my HDMI 4K splitter from amazon just type this into the search box and have a look there's quite a few to pick from some with two Or three outputs I got mine for around a tenner. Just gives you those extra HDMI outputs if you need them I also picked up two new 4K HDMI cables for a tenner for my sky hd box and blu ray player as my original HDMI cables were over 4/5 years old - so thought may as well get them to set the new tv up.

Just found you can change the special viewing mode to HDR + in the picture mode settings within the other hdmi slots once your playing through these sources. I've got my sky HD box into HDMI 1 my blu ray DVD player into HDMI 2 and a HDMI 4K splitter box with 2 outputs into HDMI 3 and got my chromecast, & amazon fire stick in that one. Also if anyone is looking for a Samsung soundbar to connect to this tv I can recommend the Samsung HWK 450 links to the Samsung TV wirelessly through their TV connect system and the sound is great.

I would let you know my impressions except John Lewis told me today when I phoned today to ask why my tv isn't here yet that the 7 days is simply the delivery to the courier for Northern Ireland customers. Yes came with the smart remote. I think the currys version comes with the magic remote as well so that could be what you're thinking of? Not bothered about the magic remote as I dont have anything else to use with it really! The guy in currys was trying to sell it to us by saying it will control our sound system, our soundbar, our blu ray player, etc- and we were like yeah we have none of those things.
I love the smart remote though, so sleek and easy to use.

Came around 4pm  looks great, haven't adjusted the picture at all. Came with a normal remote control and a smart remote. Had to do some assembly including screwing the stand onto the TV so make sure you have a screwdriver around. It has the freeview HD channels which look great, although I know these may only be a novelty to me as I haven't had them before. Also comes pre loaded with a bunch of apps etc. No Nowtv app which is a shame, but the Nowtv box hooked up looks great on it.
Also I don't understand why people say you need a soundbar as it sounds great to me. But as mentioned my last TV was old so maybe I just don't notice these things!

Cheekybadger,
You are quite blatantly talking out of where the sun doesn’t shine.
Motion judder is actually an innate problem due to the movie industry standard of filming at 24fps.
If you watched particular panning shots at your beloved 24fps you would be living in judder city already! http://www.projectorcentral.com/judder_24p.htm https://www.cnet.com/news/what-is-1080p24/
All cinemas play at 24fps? Not necessarily! http://www.cinematography.com/index.php?showtopic=65307 (see David Mullen post)
To solve the judder at 60hz on THIS tv due to 24fps original filming a telecine 3:2 pulldown (mentioned in the first two links) and frame interpolation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_interpolation) are most likely used.
As I have never noticed film judder on a modern tv at whatever frequency it played at, and I haven’t been too fussed till now to look up what it’s all about, the telecine and motion interpolation must be working just fine.
I just wanted to call you out for talking pretentious “movie buff” rubbish.
Oh and mentioning a more expensive and flat tv in this thread? Well I think King Joffery said it best… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqCcJkRcvaU

I didn't say life ruining- I said it's a deal breaker for film buffs- most people wouldn't even know it has a judder - it's the same reason people wonder why their big screen tv at home doesn't feel as smooth as the cinema
At the beginning of layer cake there is a panning in the drug store scene
If you don't notice it there then you are fine
The judder there is really pronounced
Daftasabrush
26 Dec 161#26
I really don't understand a lot of this, like 95% of normal people who buy televisions!
However, if your right and my life's ruined by this "nasty Judder effect" it's going back to John Lewis

cheekybadger
26 Dec 161#25
Jesus Christ man!
24p blue at playback has nothing to do with resolution
It's 24 frames per second
All cinemas play at 24 frames per second
If you put a 4k blu ray in
You want to have 24 fps to get that true cinema experience
This set (also the 6000) force the screen to refresh at 60hz
Or 60 frames per second
Now 24 doesn't equally divide into 60
So you know what that means ?
All films have a slight judder
Samsung really are knobs to leave such an important feature out
If you are buying this tv to watch a few blu rays in 4k
The screen will look great until something pans and you notice a nasty judder effect
cheekybadger
25 Dec 16#23
Great for non HDR gamers because of the low input lag
Beware though
The HDR performance is shockingly bad- the set lowers the actual brightness to fake HDR
Also movie buffs AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
No 24P mode
No 48hz mode
The set plays all films at 60hz
You are going into motion blur and judder city
It's a great panel if you go into with tempered expectations
Daftasabrush to cheekybadger
25 Dec 16#24
You say "Avoid like the plague, it's no 24p mode" !!!
You tight git, I don't spend £649 on a telly and expect to watch stuff for 24p !
