my Sony player is on the blink (sometimes it can't play some of the new Blu-ray disks). is this a good player? Surprisingly Sony provided firmware updates until last April. It's almost 5years old.

Anyone manage to get a region free DVD hack to work on this model, various stories on the net but noting concrete especially in the UK.

i believe hardware hacks work - not heard anything successful on software mod.
