Am I right in thinking this one doesn't get too hot?

so just bought a Samsung TV. would this work with the TV enabling the USB recording and pause/play live TV? thanks.

Good question but I don't think it will be recognised as recordable media no matter what format. There's some sort of identifier which determines whether the device is a hard disk or not and usb flash does not fulfill this.

I have a lexar 64gb usb connected to my samsung TV and works no problem don't even have to format it like I've had to with other TV's in the past.

Had this one as my Wii U storage for a year now. absolutely effective. No major heat issues, but definitely put it in the top rear usb port. Had issues with it in the bottom. kept disconnecting.

Puzzled by this response, as one of those tiny Sandisk thingies works a treat in my Sony. It nicely enables the 'pause live tv' facility, but is a bit small for recording - but the pvr does that.
