Needlefast Nordman Fir from Asda. All sizes available for £20.
Much better deal than the Homebase one as this keeps needles for longer.

I always get "Fraser Fir" trees about six foot for £50 or so. Genuinely lasts from now till beginning of Jan, in front of a big cast iron radiator but with hardly any needle drops.
Love the smell, especially for the young'uns so is worth it to me but am open to better ideas. :stuck_out_tongue:

we were off to a local place to get one (3 times the price) and saw these, took a gamble and it's a great looking tree, could drop like crazy though, time will tell.

I waited for the prices to drop last year, and I waited too long - some of the trees at B&Q went down to £10 but as others had said that they get sold off for 1p, I hung in there, however, too long. I won't make that mistake this year - off to Trago Mills tomorrow to see what they are charging, if no luck, will drop into Asda. Thank you.

We got a smaller (approx. 3 feet tall) Christmas tree with roots from Asda reduced to £10, about 3 years ago. It is still going strong in its pot and growing slowly. We just bring it in for Christmas.

Are these trees prickly? I am planning on driving to Asda to pick one up today, but early this morning I noticed that Aldi was selling the Nordman Fir trees. I touched the needles on one of the trees and they are really sharp and prickly? I thought that the Fir tree type was supposed to be softer to the touch?

Nope - it's soft to the touch, and actually quite soft with a matt gloss finish  - hope that helps

Went to Trago Mills today instead with my children. I ended up buying one of their Nordman Fir trees - nice and soft to touch as you stated. I'm 50 now and have never had a real tree (even as a child), so it was lovely to actually buy one today.
