Came across this NAS with 2 x 6TB WD RED Hard Drives installed. Looks a very good price at £324 considering enclosure is around £180-£200 alone.
Temporarily out of stock but still available to order.

Hi, Has anyone noticed the used like new listing from what seems to be a 'con artist' for this product offering?
Don't understand how these people are able to list on the marketplace as I've sold some things on there and they were very stringent? Spotting many, many of similar listings - for high value goods - and you seem to have to email the seller before you can buy!?. They're ripping people off from what I'm able to gather.

Damn. Missed out in this, saw it earlier, got distracted and it slipped my mind. Mu current NAS I got from a HUKD amazon deal for a qnap Ts-210 a few years back. Everyone said that when ordered wasnt going to come with two 2tb drives when the price alone for those was basically the normal cost for the unit without drives. I ordered then when out of stock and it dispatched a day or two later, drives included

Still waiting.... They havent sent me a cancellation email yet so I still see it on my orders list for £324. I think it will most likely end in a cancellation and they are just burning through the list of people who ordered spamming cancellation emails so hence the delay but it would be a nice christmas present if they did honor the price.

According to the below site it does seem upgradable - the disassembly photos show the 1gb module:

"So in terms of hardware and performance, the TS-251+ obviously has the advantage. We’re still not quite as impressed in the interface – even though it appears to basically mirror Synology’s, it’s not quite as polished. However, when it comes to sheer performance and extra hardware features, the QNAP leads by a long way."

Many reasons i will give a few.
1. Try streaming a 4k uncompressed video over the internet.

Hi, Chatted with Amazon via live-chat on 4-5 occasions over the last 3-4 days to make them aware of high value items being sold by scammers and they do not seem to be that interested - This is quite surprising. The only thing they say is that their Seller Services will be made aware of the issues and that's that. Asked them this-aft' what their policy is and they said they do not have a policy on rewarding customers who let them know of hacked accounts. You'd think they would be interested and grateful. They seem to be neither. Shocking.
Durzel
3 Dec 16#81
Was about to point this out as an obvious misprice, but Amazon are also selling the 6TB WD Red drives that are in it for £91.43 too!
How do you report them though. I have made previous complaints about scammers offering 256GB SD cards before such thing existed (and at 32GB prices), but never received any response, let alone a reward. The marketplace is becoming more like eBay with regard to these thieves. Don't even mention sponsored reviews!

Sorry vassy did`t recognise you, have a great weekend
Don't understand how these people are able to list on the marketplace as I've sold some things on there and they were very stringent? Spotting many, many of similar listings - for high value goods - and you seem to have to email the seller before you can buy!?. They're ripping people off from what I'm able to gather.
this will be the 4th Amazon NAS misprice that they will cancel but no harm in trying. Irony is that you're more likely it will get fulfilled if you don't post it on here! The sudden surge in orders promts investigation

Back to my Gen8 then...
Despite our best efforts, with the millions of items available on our website, pricing errors can occasionally occur.
Oh...well - what's next

Did the early instock orders get cancelled as well?

Just tried the link, and the price is 906.22 , so what is the matter?
They didn't magic up stock overnight. Really can not see this being honoured.
my Synology only has 200GB something free (2x 2TB 1tb usable backing up 3 pc's 1 macbook).

Edit:
Here's the official hardware manual from QNAP:

Yeah.
That doesn't bode well...
http://www.pcauthority.com.au/Feature/418094,head-to-head-synology-ds216-versus-qnap-ts-251-2-bay-nas.aspx
Sadly way too many orders now for Amazon not to batch cancel.
I've ordered.
But no way do I expect it to be honoured.
Ordered 2 haha thank you poster!
But i hate these NAS devices due to HDD's in them.. For those who want cheap, buy a usb3.0 caddy from ebay. Reuse the old disks or buy an SSD and use "rsync" to copy and syncronise.
1. Try streaming a 4k uncompressed video over the internet.
2. Backing up home videos and pictures rather than trust cloud based storage sites.
3. Local backup costs a lot less than cloud storage per TB imo.
Been keeping an eye on the synology a while.
things like the Oppo HA-1 and similar Marantz gear...every now and then a 3rd party selling these for around £500 appears lol
Hard drives alone are more thqn £300 here so unlikely this will be honoured.

whats the chances this gets cancelled
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/movers-and-shakers/computers/
Couple of years ago. Was about £300 instead of £800. Even then it was out of stock. 5 weeks later I got a 4 bay NAS with 4x2TB drives installed.
So you are in for a good shout here.

Saw it has, ordereed one!
I have 4k Sony Android TV, wondering does it have any update to support 4k transcoding !!
I seen only the 251A can transcode 4K(30fps)
I haven't used a qnap device before but imagine its a lot easier to use as its all pre installed for you and most things these days have tutorial walkthroughs on youtube or google as well as forums.
If there is a will there is a way.
Waiting for the cancellation email from Amazon when they realise what they have done!
Is that what people's experience is too or is this being overstated a bit?
Thanks
Fingers-crossed, Xmas comes early for a lot of you...
Nearly forgot, a very strange email address.
There are multiple listings on Amazon for tech under this email address
No mention of installed memory so I don't know if this one comes with more installed or not.
