There's a few other Hue items which seem reasonably priced.

Not bad but no remote with the extension kit, started kit looks better value even though it's the older hub you can still start to set up a network. Used these guys last year and bought a couple of the larger Iris lamps at a very good price, all arrived safe and sound from Ireland.

Darn. Wish it was possible to use this without the Hub thing. Wondered why it was called an extension kit... seems their proprietary router is needed to control it and more expensive than this standalone lamp :/

The risk being "WHO THE HELL ARE THESE PEOPLE?".

They've been around for quite a while now and they take PayPal, so can't see much risk TBH.

I'm confused by this! The second link says 1x hue bridge inc. Isn't that the piece that makes this all work? In the op description it says "hue bridge sold separately"

The deal is for the Bloom light only (its for people who already own the bridge). The 2nd link? I guess you're referring to the E27 Starter Kit which is a different product and does include the bridge.

Looking a the picture on the box I'd guess it doesn't come with the bridge.

Thanks OP I've ordered a couple of them as I have a second generation bridge already. Got a small collection of wireless things building up in one corner now WiFi access point, Hive hub & Phillips hub. Maybe the Samsung one next. Paid will PayPal so no risk there :-)
