Hi great deal fantastic camera , I'm after something a bit more compact myself is the double cash back apply to all Panasonic cameras and finally, could anyone recommend any particular model ? .
Good deal if you don't have amex (otherwise Jessops is a lot cheaper), I picked mine up from Jessops yesterday for net £200.
£549 paid in store
£200 Panasonic cashback
£150 amex cashback (£50 back per £150, three transactions)

How many AMEX cards did you use for the 3 separate transactions, and have you already received the Amex credits?

Really tempted by this but I think the standard lense is only the equivalent of 3x optical zoom? Extra lenses are more expensive than the camera by the looks of things. I would like a 14-140 lense instead as it is more versatile, although more bulky. Is there any incentive to upgrade from a Sony RX100 if I couldn't afford additional lenses? I can see that this has 4K video but I sadly don't know enough about cameras to decide.
Voted hot as it seems to be the cheapest yet.

I too have the sony RX100 v1 and am looking at this, not sure though. The big plus for me with the Sony is is is so small and a fast lens at widest

29 Dec 161#42
RX100 v1 is still a great camera, it is slightly smaller and lighter than the newer versions, which is a bonus imo. This has better image quality and handling though (plus a reasonable EVF) you can also add some great lenses to make it even better. As you can use any 4/3 lens, it's worth looking at Olympus lenses also as these tend to be a bit cheaper.

Buying a camera is such a minefield, very lucky to own the RX100 as a lot of the photographs I've taken with it have turned out really well (complete amateur but enjoy taking holiday and walking photos in the Peaks).

It is a great camera, if it rains just stick it in your pocket. Still tempted, will have a think

29 Dec 16#12
Is Rx100 V1 still a good buy? It's on for £299 at Jessops.
Can possibly use 2x£50 cashback using Amex making it only £200.

It's still a great camera but I think you'll find something with at least more connectivity options for £200 now. Also, I paid £250 for mine on Black Friday 2013 so it really doesn't seem good value at £200 now.

29 Dec 16#14
if you are not going to upgrade/add/change lenses then imo stick with the rx100

I somehow don't feel right about getting the multiple cashbacks, and instore staff have been told not to split. Either way, I went for the double lens bundle from Jessops, and even after only a single £50 credit it's going to cost me £399, down from the £699 it should be, which is an amazing saving!

29 Dec 16#17
How do you split the payment multiple times on the same card. Are they alright doing that?

29 Dec 16#18
You ask in store, and from what I read in all those threads, Jessops staff are more than happy to help you.

29 Dec 161#19
yeah - you need to have the offer on your account though so dont try then hope for cashback i think

i know, just I haven't see a comment(unless I missed any) that positively confirm that actually got the multiple cash back, because seems clear abuse to me..

been loads saying the individual cashbacks have tracked - dont think they get paid until end of month though? not sure

29 Dec 16#24
I haven't used the Jessops offer, but for other promotions Amex have issued me a statement credit within a few days that reduces the balance as any other payment would do. However that's not to say at the end of the month, or at a later date they couldn't or won't reverse the credit if they suspect misuse.

Wondering who to buy from now - here, JL or Jessops, with their 11% TCB....
nnj10 to woldranger
29 Dec 16#26
That is for Photos only. Not for camera or lenses. Otherwise combined with Amex and Camera / lens cashback this deal would be second to none.

29 Dec 16#27
Cheers. Personally I was leaning toward trying to get JL to price match this deal and buying from them, and this reinforces that now! Can't believe that I've not even held one of these and I'm looking to buy one - must be a good deal!

Normally the amex offers only last a couple of weeks max. You won't be able to get this offer if you don't already have an amex, but it would be worth it for the future. If you know someone with a card they can refer you and you both get £25.

I believe that is 2011 or 2012 model as currently its on V5. Considering one iteration every year it does seem like it was launched around 2011/2012.

I am guessing CAMERA50 code can be used in store as it says on website which reduced from 699 to 649, which with Amex and Panasonic double cashback indeed brings the price down to £249. Indeed bargain of the year.
I already have A5100 but so tempted to buy at this price.

Well seems I have no local mates with Amex cards to help me out on this one. I do have a price match from JL with free delivery tho. If I never knew some were getting the 2 lens kit for £249, I'd have been happy to buy the single lens kit for £319. Who knows ... it might be cheaper again tomorrow.

I'm not sure. The offer vary by card holder so you'd need to check in the app or in your account online. Not all card holders have the same offers and I'm not even sure if it's still available to save to card (depends how many people have saved to card already)

I purchased on 28/12 and although I had an email from Amex to confirm the promotion I haven't yet had the credit. I know it says 5 days after transaction and then could be up to 90 days after the promotion ends.... but does anyone have any experience of how long it's taken for their Amex credits to show?
