ok for the money but 3d at that resolution will not be pretty

I'm after one of these, perfect spec for presentations. (No need for wide-screen nor high res)

Unfortunately no asda in the North West stocks them :disappointed:

This is decent value for travelling around with. 3000 lumens but not 1080p. Price wise I'm happy to compromise when I'd only be using it for presentations. I'm going to buy one if I find it instore. Thanks OP just what I was looking for :smiley:

Active glasses shouldn't be half the resolution. Flicks between the full resolution image. Though not best at this resolution. All depends on how big an image you projecting.

The out of focus picture on the box tells a story.

Eww 800x600 will look pretty bad, and the 3d content will be worse because that frame will be halfed (each frame is half the screen in sbs content). Native 3d will be better from an hdmi source, but still half the res of HD

Jeez, its only £79 - You cant even get a reasonable cheapo Chinese projector for that price off ebay/Amazon, you know the type that are made like toys stating 1080p when in reality they're at best 800x480 and about as bright as a candle in a sock.

I know, but these are sold in asda because they think they can catch people out thinking it's going to be near comparable to the projector they see on the local boozer. At least the ones on the net are sold cheap, I wander what markup is on these to have them in a retail environment

Yeah, i don't know if i would buy this as an home entertainment Projector. It will be fuzzy, but it would have been perfect for what i needed it for. I never found one though.

Just gave it a spin, and I'm very impressed.
Brightness & contrast are both very good (clear even in a lit room!).
Tried a 1080p movie rip (1920x816) and that was very watchable; even with the effective resolution being only 800x340.

To my layman's eyes, I couldn't perceive any rainbow effect in fast moving action sequences. I did however see some when watching some old, heavily compressed tv rips (DS9 :stuck_out_tongue:); the rapidly changing pixels of the compression artefacts exhibited some rainbow-like ghosting.

In summary, this is in a different league to the Chinese tat you get at the same price point; it's a quality product at a budget price.

I think people get too obsessed about resolution; for projectors it's brightness & contrast ratio that are most important, and in that regard this projector is just as good as ones 5+ times its price.

Mine was bought for presentation use, but I wouldn't have any reservations using it for games or movies; you can't get better new without spending >£200.

Sat in Asda Ellesmere Port didn't think that there would be any left however they have four after the one that I have just taken a chance on. Thanks for the review.
