If you order something and it's delivered damaged. You contact the sender and they deal with it. You shouldn't be asked to deal with it yourself (contacting the courier), that is stupid.

The forum says different along with the long list of repairs and replacements. As for the SD810 it was busted from the day of release every device its in throttles like there is no tomorrow and even Qualcomm eventually had to throw in the towel and go back to quad-core.
Mind you it is winter so it will at least keep your hands warm , while it struggles to focus on any subjects you try to photograph of.

Hi thank you, just tested, but sadly it did not work, but I had read on the official oneplus two forums that they had taken the 3.5.5 update down, due to a pending hotfix on all download servers.

I went onto chat with somebody at One Plus and asked them what I should do, it was the strangest conversation ever, either the agent was incredibly dumb or they have been told not to answer the question.
I have turned off updates on the OS as there seems to be some backdoor snooping being planned by the management of Cyanogen.
Think i'll wait a bit before flashing it, thanks for the feedback.

I guess it's so you hold responsibility over it. It's not like they're saying "You will brick your phone doing this". Don't let it put you off. Just make sure you do plenty of reading first and do the steps right. Bricking a phone is quite difficult to do by accident.
Yaradabbadoo
29 Dec 16#218
The thing that worries me as I have not flashed a phone before are all the warnings about not being responsible for bricking the phone.
Not really sure what One Plus take on this is, if Cyanogen is dead and there will be no more security updates seems like One Plus should be sorting this out.
Looking at the OP forum they have no official options, be warned if thinking about buying a One Plus!

I'm not sure how Google Pay is implemented (probably find out next year when I return to Android), but Apple Pay use is locked to Touch ID (fingerprint), so a heck of a lot more secure than your contactless cards, which can be used by anyone who gets hold of them.
The time it took for Google Pay to be released and even the. I understand it is only on certain phones suggests they've thought of this.

exactly, one of the reasons I consider no NFC a bonus. Although, you'd probably need to leave NFC switched on for this to happen, but then, if it's not on, it's a PITA to use. And if you have numerous NFC payment apps, how does it know which one you want to use without having to select everytime (ballache)?

eBay doesn't count anyway. Daft for anyone to make the comparison. It's like when people say 'this Amazon deal is way too expensive, I got one for half the price on Gumtree.' That simply isn't the same thing. A deal for me is is something open to everyone from a reputable source, not a random series of events leading to a cheap private sale on a site with a poor reputation for scams and insurance fraud. eBay don't offer a warranty, you just have the option of making a claim within 6 months. After that, you're out of luck.

Sorry buddy if you felt offended.
Trying to find a new S6 for this price will be very very difficult if et all it comes by. You have to spend so much time waiting for one and God knows if it will come as i cant see a S6 sold for this price in recent times.
Moreover, ebay warranties are more or less always dodgy unless bought from a retailer which will never happen less than £300.
This item comes next day with prime and you get Customer service from Amazon in case of any issues. So, this makes a better deal, unless someone wants to wait for months and spend sleepless nights trying to get a one time deal which may or may not come by

Just ordered the phone.
The reason being I like to flash my devices after manufacturer support has been dropped and I know that people will be cooking up android 11 ROM's for this phone in 2020. So this phone will last me a very long time.
I am currently using Android 7.1 on a Nexus 10 I bought in 2012 (support ended at 5.1.1) and it flies with this version.
OP2 will be a flashers dream
Or you can buy a P9 lite and be stuck on the Android version that Huawei leave you with because no dev will be able to work with the HiSilicon Kirin SOC. I have looked over at XDA because I was thinking of picking up the P9 lite during the Orange sale and support is pretty much dead already. That was a big turn off for me.

Firstly, grow up.
Secondly if you're going to criticise someone, at least be right.
If you are persistent and patient enough, you will see buy it now listings for new S6 phones (often insurance replacements) with warranty, around the £200 mark. Some people just want a quick sale. I got mine for a flat 200 this way back in September, and I'd missed better deals too (you have to be quick).
Next time you want to criticise someone, perhaps you should be the one to do a search first.

I upgraded from Oneplus two to OnePlus 3, the only differences are the NFC, Screen, Ram, but for me the biggest and best benefit, is the quick charge! Had a few quality issues with the OnePlus 3, whereby the screen went, sent it back for repair, then the handset speaker didn't work as a result of the repair. Oneplus offered me a brand new replacement, which I taken. The customer support is a bit 'weak' (having owned all of the Oneplus phones......) the only problem I've encountered is with the OnePlus 3 (see above). Other than that, pound for phone, these are unbeatable!

I've had a oneplus two, bought it 2nd hand worked wonderfully, flogged it on a few weeks ago for a bit over 200, I was pondering buying a k6 note, but at 203 delivered, what more can you say, so bought another one, recently bought a iPhone 7 for my wife's Christmas present even at 490 (599 from Apple) for someone else's brand new unopened upgrade, I can say compared with her 2 year old iPhone 6 nothing much has changed, even the screen Res is the same, expensive, very expensive, but it was what she wanted, you would not catch me buying one for myself, very retro, they don't even make a dual sim model.

this kind of comment makes no sense. yes the tech was introduced a few years ago. and as time passes, applications of the tech and its prevalence grows. hence its much greater utility and importance now than compared to the past. i.e. android pay is far more widespread and accessible now, due to the rise of contactless payments and retailers accepting them, banks joining android pay.
so it's normal that now it has far greater importance as a feature to have in 2017, than a few years ago.

Battery - I get minimum 3h15-30 screen on. have pushed this to 4h30-45 before. takes around 1h45 to charge from 0-100%.
Screen - Not qhd but a V good 1080p panel. serves the battery well
Performance - Have had this for a year and the upgrade to marshmallow made it even quicker. effortless 99% of the time. no overheating issues per se but it gets a little warm to the touch after gaming for a while
oxygen OS is brilliant - V close to stock android plus a few useful additional features
speakers are not very good
camera - can take some very good shots and the 4k video is also top notch. however don't expect iPhone shutter speeds.
build quality is great. dropped a few times and there are scratches here and there but still functions perfectly
overall a joy to use and would certainly recommend at £200. think I might skip an upgrade to the 1+4 next year as I can see it still going strong around that time

Cyanogen shutting down has absolutely nothing to do with the OnePlus Two. OnePlus themselves provide the software for the OnePlus Two onwards, it was only the OnePlus One that used CyanogenOS.
If you're talking about the effect it will have on using the CyanogenMod custom ROM then it's simply changing name to LineageOS and you can carry on using/flashing it as normal.

Why not, amazon own no hassle warranty is a nice peace of mind feature if it needs to be returned.
Only thing, how long is the phone warranty? I'm guessing 12 months?
It's definitely a downgrade you also lose:
1. Screen size
2. Micro SD expansion
3. IR Transmitter
4. Barometer sensor
5. Humidity sensor
6. Removable battery

Regarding the OPT: no idea, but for £200 it's probably a good deal if you want to get a phone from within Europe.
Edit: Trying to convince myself to go for a 3T but simply cannot find a good enough reason to retire my OPO just yet.

I had the original OnePlus One and it was great. 'Upgraded' to the OnePlus 2, but sold it on after a month as Oxygen OS was awful compared to Cyanogenmod. Choppy and unresponsive and just felt really amateurish.

I've had NFC for about 4 years now I would say, used it once (just to test Android Pay). Easier to use my contactless cards, is the benefit of it that you can show the shop assistant that you have a 'cool' phone? If that is the only reason, it's ironic that people complain about it being missing from some of the nastier branded phones - you would want to hide them away if anything.

This. I'd get this because of the community support for firmware, kernels, etc. The P9 Lite has almost none. Unless you need NFC/don't care about all that.

Obviously this. Why would you go for the Lite compared to this!!!
Is that a joke? You really need to get your facts right before commenting. Cheapest New S6 and which is only 32gb without Micro SD costs minimum on ebay more than £300. So how exactly do you get a S6 for £200!!!!!

the lack of NFC kills this deal, despite the great price, as a phone relevant for 2017.
paying via mobile is more secure and so much more convenient than carrying contactless cards and once you start, you won't ever want to go back (and i'm pretty sure the vast majority of banks now support android pay).
and with coming improvements to NFC payments and other upcoming uses for NFC, i really wouldn't want a phone that doesn't have it, despite this great price.

Some of the comments on here about the software are IMO plain wrong. This is as near to Nexus (now Google) phone as you are going to get. No bloat or samsung-style bloat. Battery gives 36 hour use. Everything is snappy. Dual Sim is useful. Camera is Good (not as good as the latest but its far from bad),No NFC is its only downside.

actually the NFC on the Sony TV remote allows you to pair your phone with the TV to use miracast. similar thing to chromecast but built into the TV. makes trying to pair it through the setting menus easier and great for sending pictures straight to the TV.

my point was a general one- not aimed at amazon/one plus. Buying from Amazon in this case does make sense because of their great returns policy. (And oneplus dont sell it now any way). I did this myself only a month ago when they were last in stock-but wouldnt have been put off buying directly from oneplus if they had them. Had the oneplus x with no issues, and no issues buying direct from them for that.

He said he's owned it for over a year! :stuck_out_tongue:
As have I. Great phone but don't buy from OnePlus themselves. Had the fingerprint sensor die for 2 weeks then magically fix itself followed by a complete motherboard failure last month. Took 27 days from the day it happened until I got it back. That made me miss Apple slightly. I was worried they'd claim water damage like they have done with so many repairs, charging €220 or about €50 just to ship it back without repairing.
I got lucky though, I kept pestering them saying that I have taken pictures & videos of the liquid damage indicator before sending and of the phone's general condition and it went smoothly. The repair was done in Poland I think they recently changed their repair company recently hence the fussless repair. If anyone would like to know more about the repair process let me know.
That said, buying from Amazon would make it relatively risk-free for a year.
The phone just got a decent OTA update to a new version of Oxygen OS. The phone doesn't heat up at all anymore and I've noticed it now charges slightly faster. Nougat will be coming soon.
TL/DR; Great phone, buy from Amazon. £200 is good money for a still-competent phone.

I had this phone and in my opinion it was great. Zero issues with the 810 and it's OS is one of the few that improves on stock android. For this price it is a good deal. Nice build quality too. Quite heavy though. I got a S7 Edge as was lured by features but all pointless Samsung rubbish ruined it for me. I've ended up going back to iPhone but on android now I'd only buy stock or a OnePlus or HTC (near stock now on 10)

I've been using NFC stickers for years, just takes a quick Google search and a bit of imagination. Just think it hasn't been picked up by the manufacturers as much. Don't forget to turn off the VPN after you have the notification though
I have turned off updates on the OS as there seems to be some backdoor snooping being planned by the management of Cyanogen.
Think i'll wait a bit before flashing it, thanks for the feedback.
Not really sure what One Plus take on this is, if Cyanogen is dead and there will be no more security updates seems like One Plus should be sorting this out.
Looking at the OP forum they have no official options, be warned if thinking about buying a One Plus!
Amazon have already dispatched a replacement. Aside from this, really like these phones!
It also vibrates haptically to try to simulate a button
I remember when I got an S3 I hated the clicky centre button and sold it soon after, but I don't mind capacitive ones. I can live with that.

The time it took for Google Pay to be released and even the. I understand it is only on certain phones suggests they've thought of this.
Do you know what I should do now Cyanogen is dead?
Trying to find a new S6 for this price will be very very difficult if et all it comes by. You have to spend so much time waiting for one and God knows if it will come as i cant see a S6 sold for this price in recent times.
Moreover, ebay warranties are more or less always dodgy unless bought from a retailer which will never happen less than £300.
This item comes next day with prime and you get Customer service from Amazon in case of any issues. So, this makes a better deal, unless someone wants to wait for months and spend sleepless nights trying to get a one time deal which may or may not come by
Just because Steve Jobs coined that phrase, it doesn't make it true!
Interesting times.
Well its still a nice phone. I need a 5.5" as my Moto X 4.7" seems too small now. I was going to get a Redmi Note 4 but this seems better in every way for not much extra :sunglasses:
That was a big turn off for me.
is anyone here can confirm please?
thanks in advance.
Even at the price it's a waste of money there will be little to no support on this device, one of the co-founders of OP has already confirmed this.
What are we to do now Cyanogen is dead?
EDIT: Sorry, ignore my rambling! :stuck_out_tongue:
Those who dont use NFC for payments and don't intend to in the next year or so, go for the deal. Its too HOT to be here

so it's normal that now it has far greater importance as a feature to have in 2017, than a few years ago.
I have a OPO and its been the best phone i have ever owned!
I have a one plus 3 love it great phone.
I'd suggest the Nextbit Robin over this for £149, but I appreciate that this device has a tiny bit more oomph!
Only thing, how long is the phone warranty? I'm guessing 12 months?
**buyer beware** the company, Cyanogen, will cease to exist by the end of the year. http://www.theverge.com/2016/12/24/14074496/cyanogen-flail-shutting-down-services
1. Screen size
