Have you purchased one from tesco as others say they bought one and it is was radio controlled.

Mine has arrived, it's definitely radio controlled with no wire between. If you look from the outside of the box you might get the impression it's connected with a wire between because the aerial on the car and remote look as though they're joined in the packaging.
It needs 5 AA batteries which are NOT included - grrr!

I got the Porsche few years ago and Lamborghini recently from Argos 2 for 15, takes 4 for the car and 2 for remote. Cheap batteries seem to last a while if these are similar.
Monster remote truck eats batteries but on the plus one remote works on all and at same time
