The cheapest I seen it since last December .great deal I bought a copy like new played just new it wd take over so sold bought again a year later game of year edition will keep you going for ever

I'm not a fan of Tolkien, so is a game like this wasted on me?
It looks great and I like what I've seen of it but not sure if it requires some prior understanding etc.

Good deal, but be aware that your save progress from a standard edition of the game won't carry over to the GOTY edition.
If anyone's unsure if they'll like the game, it's basically a really good Assassins creed style game.

Jumping on the sentiment above... It's such an awesome game, and - dare i say it - better than Arkham Knight... [Don't lynch me].

It's also one of my favourite platinum trophies i've earned... I honestly thought we'd hear about a sequel at this year's E3... Maybe 2017's E3?

The nemesis system in this game is awesome, and honestly makes such a difference to it and elevates it above the typical batman series copycat nature of it.

The combat is visceral and satisfy as well, and the story is quite affecting with subtle nods to the books. Great game, and despite being a GOTY i still feel it was underrated.

I can't comment on Fallout 4 as i've not played it yet (sat on my HDD, but i have an immense digital "pile of shame" to get through) but Shadow of Mordor is ace.

Besides, if you look around, you might be able to get both for less than £25

Fallout 4 is readily available at £15 these days. So you're getting two decent games for £25. As someone already said SOM is around 30 hours play through. Playing Fallout 4 you could easily double that. Both are fun so grab both :smiley:

Just stop what you're doing and buy this game. I bought the standard and GOTY versions of this at RRP and haven't had a single regret. And if you've already played the standard game, the GOTY version has a separate trophy list so you can platinum it twice! Seriously... Great game!!

Not at all, you don't really even need to follow the story (though it's a simple revenge story) with few cut scenes.

This is one of the best games I've played this year. The gameplay is just so fun and I'd say the combat is better than Batman because of how easy it is to build crazy combos. The upgrades you get are all worthwhile and help keep things fresh and if you die, the creature that killed you will remember you the next time you find him.

Get this game if you enjoy Batman stealth, swords, bow and arrows and riding on the back of beasts into battle :smile:

This game is truly fantastic, I have already completed the GOTY edition, but may buy this to replay on the PS4 Pro.

I really liked this game and Batman Arkham Knight, but did not enjoy Assassins Creed Black Flag.

Yeah but I platinumed before the DLC was released, sold the game and it now shows under 100% on trophy list. If I bought this it is a new trophy list so I will never get 100% on my old file without buying DLC separate and the game again which will never happen. Why they couldn't duplicate trophies that are the same I don't know.


Also just bought Arkham Knight haven't played it yet but good to know it compares to Mordor coz I loved that game.

Great game - very easy to play. Story is simple but well told and the bit where if the generals kills you they level up and get stronger then give you grief makes for some really satisfying gameplay. Its just fun. Only downside is the last boss battle but that's literally all I can find fault with. I'm still on a 360 but id defo get this on an xone of ps4

I bought this originally on the XBONE with the season pass and loved it, didn't manage to do all the DLC though so a tenner for a version I can use on my PS4Pro and revisit with better graphics is great, snatched! <3

Ta, It was Out of Stock for the PS4 briefly but thanks to you I checked again.

Despite owning the GOTY on PC (though unplayed in my pole of shame), I decided to get it for PS4 too as I recently got a PS4 Pro and really trying to build up a decent library of Pro optimised games and this one is said to be one of, if not the best example of taking advantage of the Pro hardware.

Wish they would patch more older games though, titles like GTA 5 and Witcher 3 seem such obvious choices (and have PC versions to borrow higher res assets from) yet the developers just seemingly aren't bothered. Heck games like Knack and Resogun (much as I love Resogun) can get patched, yet some of the generations best large open world AAA games, which seem to be crying out for the extra power get ignored....

I'd love to play through this game again. I'm sure you'll enjoy it just as much second time around even though you'll be grabbing trophies you've already earned :wink:

If you are not a fan of lord of the rings you may want to avoid. I deleted the game within an hour or so. It's basically high rated because of Lord of the Rings. They copied the idea of combat of Batman Arkham Asylum\city but completely missed the feel. This is way more button mashy. The captain hunting mechanic seemed interesting but it's hard to get past the poor combat.

I'd say assassins creed (climbing), Batman Arkham (fighting) meets the lord of the rings world.

Maybe it gets better later in the game? I may give it another try when I've whittled by backlog down a bit.

Just my 2p, the combat is excellent, though you will get punished for missing a counter when you get jumped by patrolling captains depending on their abilities but you can turn tail and run to save getting slaughtered and levelling them up to even more of a pain.

The movement mechanics like climbing etc are much better than games like Assassins Creed where climbing feels clunky and running along beams can become tedious.

You can have tons of fun branding orcs and getting them to fight for you, causing chaos within, letting loose caraghors(or even ride them)

You don't have to be an LOTR fan to enjoy this game which has other great features than I've listed not to mention a great storyline.

It's a proper Triple A title unlike a lot of games claiming to be the same rating. :wink:

this was a great game! I felt that the ending was lacking a bit, but overall gameplay was pretty sweet.

I'm amazed that it's been over a year since I've had an order with TGC... too many good prices from Simply Games, I reckon.
