People on here are always presenting an excuse not to buy - I think they are trying to impress, but I don't know who.

If it had 16gb someone would say its ashame is has not got something else such as a bigger drive or larger screen. People should look at the positives rather than the negatives. Happy Christmas all

4gb is plenty for most things. Window 10 will happily run on 2gb with basic programs. Although power users may want 8gb but then I'd expect they need a bigger ssd and i7 too

I find 4GB on my SP3 is fine but I think the SP4 replacement is due soon (hence price drops) and would hope they come with 8GB on the base model next time round - in the same way Apple finally saw sense and dropped the 16GB iPhone model from its lineup.

Shame it's Currys. Worst retailer of the year for me!

I'm getting 6-8 hours on my i5 which is really good - these are great machines, but they still need refining.
I have had a lot of problems and exchanges with the SP3/4. Noisy fans, overheating, battery problems, broken kickstand etc.
If you develop ANY minor issue which needs fixing after warranty expires, you have to pay an extortionate amount to get a replacement as they don't offer repairs - 333 pounds for the SP3. Can't remember what it is for the SP4.

My other half has an SP3 and I have the i7 SP4 and other than some (now resolved) software bugs, have had no issues.
I'd be all over this deal if I didn't already have mine.

Great machine but I only get 4-5 on the same spec Surface. Don't believe the 9hours advertised.

That's realistically what I achieve, I suspect you could do better by carefully choosing to run low power apps, but 9 hours seems rather optimistic, I've got a Poweradd power pack which gives me nearly 2x recharges from flat, which should be perfect for transatlantic flights.

is that with the keyboard attached? if so that is disappointing

The surface pros keyboard doesn't have a battery in it so it doesn't really make a difference if it's connected or not.
My partner has a core m version and that gets about 6-7 hours under typical use.

Presumably the keyboard draws some power?

I managed to get a Surface 3 (LTE edition) for £280 from Sainsburys. Will only use for light video playback, browsing and documents. It's not the quickest thing but seems to do the job ok - only 2gb ram which is what bothers me. Not sure if to return and get this. The keyboard cost me £80 so £360 in total. Not sure if my usage would justify the £240 extra or not....
