Was £549 over the weekend on Amazon, any chance of it getting back to that?

Is this processor not very good in comparison to the i5 for example?

Got one of these last week from amazon for 550. Ive got to say im blown away by how powerful it is. Sure, its not as quick as the i5, but for the price, it is a really good bit of kit. Ive been playing games like grid 2 at around 40fps and its completley playable.

Will this m3 sp4 run better than an i5 sp3?

The Core M is great. Plenty capable if the required task is producing a smooth desktop and web browsing experience, running mobile games and office apps.
I never really understand the negative comments TBH. You do get more for your money with the i5 - a faster processor, better graphics performance, a faster SSD, and the system runs cooler thanks to having a fan (though this could equally be seems as a negative if you'd rather have a silent machine). In spite of all that, there's no noticeable difference in performance when completing basic computing tasks. If you don't need more, why spend more?
Argos have this in their clearance technology section so I'm hoping that this is Microsoft dumping their lowest end model in preparation for the SP5 early in 2017 and that the price will hit something beginning with a 4 in the next few weeks.

I wouldn't count on that - don't recall the Surface Pro 3 reaching that price with the keyboard and even now, on the second-hand market, SP3s still fetch upwards of £350 and SP4s upwards of £450 - I'm guessing because they're such unique propositions and had high prices to start with, the people who use them don't want to let go of them (I am one of those people).

Surface blows everything away. Great machine and highly recommended. I have the Pro 3 i5 and still going strong.

Me personally, I'll be looking for the i5 with 8GB RAM to come down in price.
