Just bought an Xbox One and wanted to play this using the backwards compatibility feature, turns out it's under a fiver if you have XBL Gold. Did a search and couksnt find any cheaper or even recent posts for this.

Do you need to buy Xbox Live Gold to play it online?
Also if you buy it with Gold will it lock itself if Gold subscription expires?

You need gold to play online. If you lose your gold you can still play it if you got the discount. Use a pc or browser to buy it from xbox website and it should use your credit. You can also use the 360 to buy it with your credit

Bought off website, all the way through checkout it was giving me the full price and no option to use MS credit. Been charged the Gold price in confirmation email.
Seriously, Microsoft need to sort out their payment system!

Can only use account credit direct from an Xbox 360.

There is no player count, but you won't have a problem finding a game. I play this game religiously and have never not been able to find a game. If you buy, join the LEFT 4 DEAD COMMUNITY club. Always people on there getting groups together for getting achievements and other stuff.

Each DLC is near enough the same cost still which is a shame. Meh. Still great value for the base game.
