Have you tried Aldi Kooliburra Shiraz for £3.89?
I find that is a top tipple

Great, now I'm going to have to go and buy a bottle to try. It's not as if I haven't got enough already. She won't be happy and it's all YOUR fault.

Bought a 6 case last week. It's very fruity but leaves a bitter taste. Like eating under ripe plums and blackberries. sounds bad but just as a test I sweetened it slightly and it was OK. Good price and won awards so worth a pop.

This is a stunning wine for the money. I can highly recommend it. In fact, I'm on my second glass now!

Having read reviews expectations were possibly too high, was left a tad disappointed, not because it was bad - it wasn't, it was actually ok, but imho that's all it was - ok (remember though - just my opinion, and I'm no expert).
Another wine was also recently getting rave reviews - again a Malbec (Argentine) in Aldi's, and again ok, but the cheaper French Malbec was a better offering imo (There's a nice Ripasso in Aldi at the mo).
Yet another, a £9.99 Barolo in Lidl, unfortunately giving it a rating of ok could well be overly generous - it's a long time since I tasted such a poor Barolo.
On the other hand, Lidl do have an absolutely heavenly Amarone - good grief it was beautiful (but, pricey at £12.49).
P.S. Forgot to add, there's an excellent Madiran in Tesco's at the mo, ridiculously low price of £6 (easily worth twice as much imo).

Prefer the Asda Cigales at £5.98 , I can highly recommend this.
Opening post
Not so sure about that, but I've not had a better bottle of red for £4.50.
Found in Asda Skelmersdale.
