Just where you can read them I think. Play books can be read on Android, iOS (Apple), and on a computers via web browser or Chrome app. Amazon books can be read on the same devices, but also on the Kindle eInk readers.
If you were motivated, you could find ways of converting your Amazon/Play books to open formats for side loading to other devices.
