Got a couple of these, add a couple of smoke alarms and a heat detector in the kitchen and you are sorted. Nearly succumbed to CO poisoning due to a faulty gas fire. Luckily someone knocked at the front door. You really cannot tell that is happening. Take a portable one with you in hols as well. Heat.

Yes a must have. I've always sent my children armed with one for sleep overs too. We always take one on holiday as you just never know! :sunglasses:

Every time I get a headache it's the first thing I check. Mine went off in April, checked the boiler, sure enough a yellow flame. None of us had any signs of poisoning.. The first gas safe engineer asked ME how the boiler came apart, asked me to print off service manual then told me I needed a new boiler.
Called another engineer, recommended most locals to give me a quote on a boiler. He told me no service had been done and I watched as he removed the main burner filter, 99% clogged. Alarm possibly saved my life, AJ heating saved me thousands. Don't trustatrader now unless recommended by friends.

Could you advise us how to get these for free. Contacted my local fire service and they only give out smoke alarm (not CO2 alarm) for rented accommodation or the elderly.

Think thats very irresponsible thing to say. They're free for the needy, not everyone phoning up their local fire service requesting them. If I thought the elderly or disabled in some way were going without, while someone who could well afford this was taking up the fire service time I'd be upset. This is a good deal. Hot from me.

This again. Also appears on the smoke alarm threads all the time and it is just not true.
Voted hot to cancel it out.
