JVC TH-W513B 2.0 Sound Bar.
Behind its metal speaker grille, the JVC TH-W513Bfeatures two 50 W drivers that deliver 100 W of combined audio power, adding depth and clarity to your entertainment. Essential preset sound modes let you select an option to best suit what you're viewing – choose between Move, TV, Sport and DEF.
Connect your sound bar
Bluetooth allows you to stream music and audio content direct from your mobile phone or tablet to the TH-W513B Sound Bar, so you can listen to songs in high quality over its larger speakers.
Use the optical port to connect it to compatible TVs and AV equipment. There's a coaxial input for added flexibility, such as when you need to connect to aerial-type cables. An LCD display lets you clearly see which inputs have been selected and which settings are in operation, so you can make changes without hassle.

if I use an optical cable to connect it to my TV, do I have to use a separate remote to control the sound or can I set a level on it and then adjust the volume output from my TV to make it louder or quieter.
I really don't want to have to mess about looking for different remotes all the time.

Is this any good? Anyone have any experience of using it?

limited reviews, but seem positive overall - 4.2 from 5Stars.
Just be aware the 100W will be PMPO, so more likely to find a figure under 20W RMS

I bought it since seeing this deal and I'm enjoying it very much.
Pros
- It's got a lot of bass
- 4 Sound equaliser settings. Movies is heavy bass, Sports is a bit less bass, TV is minimal bass and Default is flat with no bass. When watching a Movie or playing games I select Movie or Sport depending how bass effective the movie is. TV I select when just relaxing watching normal TV. I never select Default as it's too flat.
- Great for music, with a nice range to it. Easily connects to my phone via Bluetooth when I switch to Bluetooth connectivity on the sound bar.
- It gets very loud very easily. I have it on level 5/6 in a 5x3 room, I haven't tried it at full volume yet.
- it's got an optical, coax and line in (3.5mm jack) connection. I have it connected via my optical.
Cons
- There's no option to change the equaliser settings. You're stuck with the 4 presets.
- I can't control it with my Sky Remote despite trying a multitude of codes.
- There's no HDMI port
- You can't select Bluetooth on your phone and click the sound bar previously paired option to automatically connect to the sound bar. You have to switch to Bluetooth 3 times (as it goes though all the outputs in order i.e. optical, coax, line out, Bluetooth) there's no one button to Bluetooth option.
I have got round the inability to control it with a SKY remote because I have a Broad link RM Pro IR/RF control system which I have my devices e.g. TV etc (including this sound bar) configured to. So I just use my phone or tablet to change the volume. But frustrating for those you don't have that option and have to use the dedicated remote.
Apart from that, it does sound great with some good depth and awesome bass for the price/lack of dedicated subwoofer. Miles better than my TV speakers, though obviously not as good as my 5.1 surround sound system, but that's a given. If you want an improvement on your TVs speakers, then this will do a great job!

No subwoofer?? Not much fun for music or movies, both of which are likely to be what these are purchased for. Probably ok for normal TV on a TV that has very poor speakers though.

If you do buy this, do yourself a favour and wallmount rather than stick on your tv unit as this will just distort the sound badly.
