I would assume that it has suddenly become so popular (like pulled pork etc) that everyone has started drinking it. Just very easy to drink (slightly sweetish) no edge. This stuff has been around for yonks but has taken off big time. My opinion, not that anyone will want it, is it lacks character. It tastes like what it is, a tank produced wine.
At least cava is bottle fermented which tends to give it individual flavours, of course many will prefer the blandness of prosecco. As I say my opinion. Btw cracking deal at this time of year.

I wouldn't say chav drink , however , it's not my kind of thing . Still wine certainly is though. Many thanks for this OP as Tesco's 25% deal has finished this is perfect timing. Heat added.

YellowTail Shiraz and Merlot are decent enough reds, as are the Hardys Nottage Hill Chardonnay & Cab Shiraz. I have also tried the Aupouri Sav Blanc (Marlbrough) and thats well worth £4 a bottle, not quite as good as Wairau Cove or Villa Maria, but they cost double this. I didn't expect Asda to put on the 6 for £24 just before the festive period, and I noticed Morrisons had put an extra 50p and above on their usual £5 to £7 bottles of McGuigan or acobs Creek wines. SO - heat from me !!!.

Be careful and don't count on this specific cashbach, last time I used this offer, it tracked then before it was supposed to pay it went to 0. I made a claim but still no news.
If you buy in store then 6 bottles gives an extra 25% off making it £3.75 per bottle. There was a special offer / clearance tab but it seems to have gone you can still find the reductions, but you have to trawl through.
I suggest ringing your local store to check what stock they have and then asking them to put it to one side for you.

They weren't in my local ASDA tonight. It would not make sense for ASDA to do that as that would be a different and superior offer as you would not be tied to buying in groups of 6 and could even just buy a single bottle.
EDIT: For a while Tesco were including the South of Scotland postcodes in the alcoho offers for online grocery shopping. They were getting around it via a loophole of sending the grocery shop from the North of England. I believe they stopped that though? Probably got a lot of moral pressure and grief from the politicians?

Prosecco is now very common and so are chavs so he was right
if I have to explain why it's a common chav lady drink then I think you might be missing the point, just saying people that drink this normally have eyelashes on their cars and England stickers on the rear windows

Drink what you enjoy, regardless of the image it has.
I generally prefer dry cava to prosecco, but some of that may be psychology.
In my house, our standard drink is tesco brut cava @£5 a bottle. Goes down a treat.
Taste is personal, but we've done some blind taste tests against various proseccos, cava, and champagne costing up to £60 a bottle, and the tesco cava comes out ahead for us.
I have some eye-wateringly expensive Laurent Perrier and Krug champagne sitting under the stairs which I haven't taste tested against, but I don't imagine they will be that much better in measurable terms.
Maybe we just don't have the ability to taste the nuances, but that probably saves us money

ASDA (& other supermarkets) have done this before and I see no reason why they will not do it for this promotion, the old 3 for £10 wine promotion was £3.33 each in Scotland

Might get labelled a chav, but, the wine i buy from Asda is only £3.50 a bottle (normal price) and imo is as good as, or in some cases, better than, more expensive wines. It is even better value by the box @ £8.98 for 2.25l (normal price).
