I'm looking for a decent (ish) spec laptop for under £300 that will be fine for Internet browsing / emails / word processsing and occasional photo and video editing and thought this fits that criteria with AMD A10 Quad core processor 8gb RAM and 2tb of storage. At Tesco.com so if you have any club card discounts it will be cheaper than listed..... over to you guys for comment

HD 15.6-inch screen. Just not a 1080p full HD screen. Id prefer a 1080p screen too. The rest of the spec is pretty good for a new low end lap top. Thumbs up for the OP for going to the trouble to post

Agree it is HD but not 1080p but at 15.6" your eyes are unable to see any difference.

It's not about seeing a difference, it's about fitting more things on the screen

Does the higher Res = smaller stuff displayed = Reading glasses required :sunglasses:

what's the link for the i3? depends on what graphics are on offer from the i3 machine. These A10's are very capable, and at this price point I'd probably go for the AMD. Just remember to set the maximum CPU usage to something lower than 100% to avoid the overheating issues which plagued previous generations of HP devices with APU's (although this may now have been addressed)

wow so why not get a 4k 15.6 screen. Then buy a big magnifying glass to see all the extra stuff you manage toget onto the small screen....Fitting more on yes but appears even smaller. No point at that size screen.

I found this link and judging them both it would seem the Amd is better.hope it helps.

Now I've only gone and found a Lenovo Idealpad 310 with pretty much the same spec but only 1tb storage for £279 @ PC World.... such decisions to make (think I'll see which is in stock and can be delivered or collected the quickest and go with that.
Thanks for all your replies guys
