Glad this offer came about. The stations on Google Play Music actually deliver results relevant to my interests, and it hasn't yet played a song I dislike. Much better tailoring with regards to music taste when compared to Spotify, Deezer or Apple Music.
And as a matter of personal opinion, I prefer the user interface over any other streaming provider.
Might actually consider paying for a subscription once the trial ends!

It also gives the opportunity of starting fresh, removing tracks, albums that you may not listen to anymore.

Wow, great find and works for me, despite having a three month free trial early last year with Google Play...
Over the last year or so I've not paid for any music streaming... Also had a six month free trial, through Deezer (via three) and then a 3 month free month Amazon Prime Trial, which is coming to an end.
While these free trials continue, I'll continue to play the free streaming game!

Hi
If you have your own music you can upload 50,000 tracks to the GPM 'locker' so you have your own music safe in the cloud plus with 40M tracks to choose from which can be downloaded to iOS or android for 'off line' listening.
The music stations are very good.
Google often offer 15 to 20% off play store vouchers which reduces the cost per month to £8.50 to £8.00 - the offers are often on HUKD
GPM on SONOS is excellent.
Highly recommend GPM - have tried Spotify and Napster subscription services so three in total over about ten years.
Tracks are stream at 320 kbps so excellent quality.
Ps
I'm iOS not android.

I got an email about a 3 month trial for Telegraph users (despite already doing this last year). Followed the link. Mine weirdly said (yesterday morning) "4 Months Free for Sony users" and worked fine. Subscribed, cancelled. Done. Free until April.
But the odd thing, is that I don't have a Sony mobile. Can't complain either way.

i've had a few Google Music trials in the past so i was surprised that this offer was valid for me.
I do have Amazon Prime but the sound levels & quality between tracks can be very different which can get annoying, also i fear that with the launch of Amazon Music Unlimited that the regular Prime Music Library won't be growing too much & i've already noticed songs disappearing off my playlists.

Yes the same account.
You could have different accounts and upload your own and your gf own music - the 'locker' is FREE no subscription required 50,000 track limit for both you and your gf
- two separate accounts https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/1143668?hl=en-GB
For this deal you would need to share the same account, playlists etc
TheFaulkon
22 Dec 16#97
Whats GPM locker?
take it she would have to use my account though (stupid question)
deany76
22 Dec 16#96
yes you can download the music you like to the SD card on your device and listen offline.
Your gf could have the streaming and download - nice gift.
You can also upload your music to GPM 'locker', but with 40M tracks most artists except a few like Prince are covered.

do you have a micro sd card?

If you are lucky enough to work in an office (like me), you can access it through a browser and then you more or less have all the music you could ever need on tap. No need to stream and waste all your mobile data. I hardly ever stream music from it, instead I create new playlists and download it to my device, meaning I use none of my data. Its good if you're ever making a office playlist and people request music that you don't own. I was in the same mind set as you but i bit the bullet, gave it a try and I have never looked back.

The key selling point of music subscription services is that you have access to millions of tracks for just one single monthly price. Plus as it's streamed, little storage is required on your device. You can still download tracks if you want to listen to them without an internet connection, but if you cease to subscribe the tracks will become unplayable.

Okay, I'm going to sound like an old fool here but I've been dying to ask this question for ages and now am so old I don't care what I sound like! But what is the benefit of putting all your mobile music in the cloud like this and paying a subscription fee when I can carry all my music around with me on my mobile's sd card for free and isn't dependent on having a decent wifi connection either? I genuinely don't get it, I'd be very interested to know what I suppose I must be missing.

Thanks Op, looking for something new after trialling Deezer.
.. A word of warning though - It seems to make Unsubscribing difficult. If you try to unsubscribe via the Google Play app and Settings / Cancel Subscription, this does not seem to work. Can't answer your first question, but I'm a cheapskate and I use trials all the time from all the major providers (Apple Music, Google Play, Spotify, Deezer).
I was on a free trial with Google Play up until July I believe, then cancelled and had a free trial with Apple Music which ended today. Cancelled that and am now back with Google Play Music until April, when I inevitably will find another offer.
I have to say though, since I'm back with Google Play Music I do prefer it to Apple Music. I have a bizarre music taste and a lot of artists I love are on Google Play Music but not Apple.

Considering I have one and you don't I feel a little more qualified to answer that. :sunglasses: And also would love to be proven wrong!

BuzzDuraband
22 Dec 161#14
No. You can confirm it didn't work for you as an existing Google Play Music user :smirk:. I did say existing account though. I assume with your £7.99 comment, you're an active subscriber? This may be where the problem lays. I'm currently (or wasn't) not.
This is email of my confirmation.
It's also worth trying for those who do not see the offer to search for an album they don't own on Google Play. You will see the 'subscribe' button on the albums listing page. When you click this, hopefully a pop-up should show offering you the offer. If not, I have absolutely no idea :disappointed:

Fortunately, I've been able to grab this. I just came by to post the deal. Checked for duplicate fist. Glad I did.
But the odd thing, is that I don't have a Sony mobile. Can't complain either way.
Current user and I've made use of a free trial (plus multiple Valentines gifts!)
1. Go to the Google Play store home page: https://play.google.com/store?hl=en&tab=88
2. Hopefully this banner will come up for you:
3. Click on it, and it should bring you to this page
If not this is the link it brings you to: https://play.google.com/music/listen?signup=1&coupontype=vanity&coupon=YEAREND120&u=0#
Hope it helps
Thanks.
Anyone know if you can scrobble from Google Play on iOS?
I do have Amazon Prime but the sound levels & quality between tracks can be very different which can get annoying, also i fear that with the launch of Amazon Music Unlimited that the regular Prime Music Library won't be growing too much & i've already noticed songs disappearing off my playlists.
good deal, thanks for sharing.
In short, KEEP TRYING
Thanks OP
just susbscribed
if i cancel straight the way do i still get the 4 months
or does it cancel straight the way
cheers
You could have different accounts and upload your own and your gf own music - the 'locker' is FREE no subscription required 50,000 track limit for both you and your gf
- two separate accounts https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/1143668?hl=en-GB
For this deal you would need to share the same account, playlists etc
take it she would have to use my account though (stupid question)
Your gf could have the streaming and download - nice gift.
You can also upload your music to GPM 'locker', but with 40M tracks most artists except a few like Prince are covered.
edit
do you have a micro sd card?
• two devices cant stream at the same time
• one device could stream and the other listen to downloaded tracks
Do both devices have much storage and or if android a micro sd slot?
And as a matter of personal opinion, I prefer the user interface over any other streaming provider.
Might actually consider paying for a subscription once the trial ends!
Amateur
Have a long running Google music account, store most of my own music there but have never had a trial of the unlimited service.
Thanks to the OP - heat added ;-)
EDIT: Worked for me as a repeat free trial user, so worth a shot.
Try this link ?
You have signed up for a free trial subscription to Google Play Music. You will be automatically charged the subscription cost (currently £9.99/month) unless you cancel before 22-Feb-2017. Find out more.
I'm on a paid subscription

.. A word of warning though - It seems to make Unsubscribing difficult. If you try to unsubscribe via the Google Play app and Settings / Cancel Subscription, this does not seem to work. I had to go into my Google Account and into the Subscriptions section to remove it from there. Attempting it via the app, still left it active in Subscriptions otherwise..
Fantastic offer, best I have ever seen for play music as most trials are only 3 month and require you be a new customer....
Can you link it somehow to Echo and Alexa?
Thank you.

Item Price
Google Play Music £0.00
Monthly Subscription - First charge on 22-Apr-2017

Existing Gmail account and existing google play music subscriber are two different things. I mistook your account to mean google music account.
I'm on £7.99 as I was on the Beta.
(I can see the banner, but only on non Google Play Music account holder)
Ahh well...Stick with my £7.99 a month I guess :-)
I've had the current Gmail account since they first launched and had numerous Google Play 'trials'.
Not showing anything at the moment
Ideal timing since my Apple Music trial ended today.
