.. A word of warning though - It seems to make Unsubscribing difficult. If you try to unsubscribe via the Google Play app and Settings / Cancel Subscription, this does not seem to work. I had to go into my Google Account and into the Subscriptions section to remove it from there. Attempting it via the app, still left it active in Subscriptions otherwise..

Code saying invalid for me. I was a previous customer through a free trial.

I need to also state that I simply just clicked on BuzzDuraband's link in his post using my phone and the Google Play Music app opened straight away with the offer. No code was needed to be entered. I am not currently a paid Google Play Music subscriber.

It's also worth trying for those who do not see the offer to search for an album they don't own on Google Play. You will see the 'subscribe' button on the albums listing page. Existing Gmail account and existing google play music subscriber are two different things. I mistook your account to mean google music account.

I'm on £7.99 as I was on the Beta.

I think it only works when you use your phone - I couldn't get it from my laptop but took me straight to the link when using my mobile

You can cancel as soon as you get the 4 month sub. Just go into the 'Settings' option of the Google Play menu and cancel - the 4 month sub will still be valid.

Okay, I'm going to sound like an old fool here but I've been dying to ask this question for ages and now am so old I don't care what I sound like! But what is the benefit of putting all your mobile music in the cloud like this and paying a subscription fee when I can carry all my music around with me on my mobile's sd card for free and isn't dependent on having a decent wifi connection either? I genuinely don't get it, I'd be very interested to know what I suppose I must be missing.

The key selling point of music subscription services is that you have access to millions of tracks for just one single monthly price. Plus as it's streamed, little storage is required on your device. You can still download tracks if you want to listen to them without an internet connection, but if you cease to subscribe the tracks will become unplayable.

doesn't work. not current subscriber. says 1 trial per user and I'd already had one.

If you are lucky enough to work in an office (like me), you can access it through a browser and then you more or less have all the music you could ever need on tap. No need to stream and waste all your mobile data. I hardly ever stream music from it, instead I create new playlists and download it to my device, meaning I use none of my data. Its good if you're ever making a office playlist and people request music that you don't own. I was in the same mind set as you but i bit the bullet, gave it a try and I have never looked back.

I have a Google play music subscription and I think it's fantastic. Never had any problems either. I've never used Spotify so can't compare with that but have used Deezer, which I don't rate at all. Great deal :smiley:

Yeah says for me 1 free trial for every user and I've had mine except technically it wasn't free as I think I paid £1pm for 3 months or was it £1 in total for 3 months so it wasn't actually free.

i've had a few Google Music trials in the past so i was surprised that this offer was valid for me.

I do have Amazon Prime but the sound levels & quality between tracks can be very different which can get annoying, also i fear that with the launch of Amazon Music Unlimited that the regular Prime Music Library won't be growing too much & i've already noticed songs disappearing off my playlists.

I got an email about a 3 month trial for Telegraph users (despite already doing this last year). Followed the link. Mine weirdly said (yesterday morning) "4 Months Free for Sony users" and worked fine. Subscribed, cancelled. Done. Free until April.

But the odd thing, is that I don't have a Sony mobile. Can't complain either way.

If you have your own music you can upload 50,000 tracks to the GPM 'locker' so you have your own music safe in the cloud plus with 40M tracks to choose from which can be downloaded to iOS or android for 'off line' listening.
The music stations are very good.
Google often offer 15 to 20% off play store vouchers which reduces the cost per month to £8.50 to £8.00 - the offers are often on HUKD
GPM on SONOS is excellent.
Highly recommend GPM - have tried Spotify and Napster subscription services so three in total over about ten years.
Tracks are stream at 320 kbps so excellent quality.

So as an already paying google music customer, do I have to cancel my subscription in order to get this? I've tried various links and it doesn't do anything just goes into google music.

This appears to be new GPM users or had a trial over 12 months ago - without re-reading all posts again there may be exceptions to this.

Its possible but its a pain, do you have a lot of playlists I created new when I to moved, took an hour or so.
It also gives the opportunity of starting fresh, removing tracks, albums that you may not listen to anymore.
