My experience with Dualit is really pretty to look at, spares readily available, but really poor design electrically.

spot on. although their sandwich rack toaster was fantastic.
Actually, that was one of the worst, no current limiters on the individual heating elements, so if one failed, the others all got hotter and wore out a bit faster, get 2 fail without fixing the first and you would get a failure cascade, as more and more current was pushed through the remaining elements.
In a single year I replaced 10 elements in an 8 slice toaster before throwing it away and buying 2 cheap, 4 slot toasters - which were still going strong 5 years later.
(Nursery school and breakfast club, so a lot of toast made every morning).

i dunno, was thinking about the one i had about 20 years ago. used it every day and no issues. some of the new breed of older products are never as good as the old. i guess regulations etc. it was also a bit of snob value i suppose. :sunglasses:

This coffee maker is a POS.
It will only hold 2 cups worth of water, it dispenses far too quickly so the coffee is weak and tasteless and it's a faff to change coffee variations. I had one and returned it.
