Many come with rockshox at £1200 hence the reason the bike is average for £1200 but you are not paying £1200.

So the rrp looks high, seen it with all bikes, components, etc, everything's priced In US$ so Brexit has pushed our prices up by at least 10-20% by the distributors shimano, silverfish etc

Rockshox as a brand do cheap forks and expensive forks, so do suntour. The forks on this bike are better than *some* Rockshox models. Rockshox are no longer made in the USA, they are made in the far east by.....Suntour.
This bike has 650b+ wheels and tyres, these are more expensive than regular wheelsizes as they are A) new and exciting, B) less common and c) use more material.
This also means that the wheel hub spacings are 10mm wider than normal, I'm not sure that Rockshox do a fork in this price range in these boost sizes.
This bike also comes with Sram GX 11 speed. This usually costs the same as XT when buying replacements, the 10-42 cassette requires a special xd Driver free hub, again, uncommon. You'll be paying a premium on any bike because of this.
It's a great bike for the money. :sunglasses:

Thanks mr storm very interesting knowledge, your are quite right on the wider spaced forks, they do seem to be at a big premium for the bluto, boost variant. I hadn't seen the SRAM gx kit, again reassuringly expensive.
I like mine functions well, except when setting up tubeless earlier in the year my damn cassette and xd driver fell off the wheel, as I was giving the wheel a shake and turned over to get the sealant spread about

Ha, I did that once on dt wheels. Pumped up the tube, it popped and the shock made the cassette and free hub fall off. Deafening too!

Brilliant bike for the money! The Carrera Fury from Halfords also has Suntour Raidon shocks but this one has Shimano brakes rather than Avids and a proper RaceFace bar and post (plus a better chainset). If you have the extra £220 over the Fury then go for it. If not then the Fury at £400 is also a bargain.

Great bike. Well worth the price. And a others have mentioned, the plus wheel size makes it stand out. One would expect to pay a premium for that sort of feature but this one is very competitively priced.
Wish I had the cash and space.
