The camera and bag costs £300.95 in total
You will need to ask Jessops to put through two transactions on your Amex card of £150 and £150.95 thereby claiming £100 back
Why don't you just go in, explain you want to split it over two cards, pay first on the Amex then put the "incorrect" pin number in to the non-Amex card, and make an excuse as though you've not used it in a while, forgot pin etc.. and that the second payment will have to go on the Amex too even though you didn't want it to. then Bingo, two payments on the same card and the sales assistant would be none the wiser / didn't care in the first place.
however, Not sure that the offer can be used more than once on the same card? I haven't looked at the T's & C's

Has anyone tried the same card multiple times yet? I've asked over in the main Amex deal thread too.

There's no need to compare equivalent. This all stemmed from the fact that I said that this wasn't "DSLR quality". That's that. I've put across my points as to why I don't believe it is.

ah so you dont want to even compare equivalent? wow - lets leave it there lol!

Who said anything about price? Or new? You're trying to introduce new things in an attempt to show that you're not wrong.

Your argument is that these are "dslr quality". I disputed that. You're claiming that the image quality is as good as a dslr, justified by the fact that these share the same sensor as one of the budget Canon dslr's. I didn't specify purely, image quality, I took issue with, dslr quality.
In optimal conditions this could take a similar shot to a budget dslr. But a good point and shoot gets solid results with good light. This is the major drawback with this camera, poor/slow AF. Improved over previous models but still nowhere near as good as a fully fledged dslr.
A good sensor doesn't make a good camera. How can you take a great shot if the camera hasn't focused correctly?

right fine so you didn't bother reading my comment above then, could have saved time if you had done so
which new dslr of the same price is this you are using as an example btw?

10 Dec 16#27
why do i need to justify? it was you that made the claim
quality means different things - image quality is no different to dslr nowadays
as i said its a question of function/ergonomics/ecosystems
as you argued the point i made you must be arguing the image quality as well as the rest or you would have agreed at that point
if it has worse image quality then please tell us more

Fuji X-A3 would be my buy here, 4 lots of 150 and then buy for 400... But still seems a big hike from the x-A2, which at first sold for 399 and then around 350, if I remember correctly

Yes that is correct. It's easy enough, just go into the shop and say " I am interested in this camera but I can only buy it if I can split the cost over four credit cards, is that OK?" So long as they are your credit cards with your name on then it is just down to the person behind the till knowing how to do it. Phone the shop beforehand too.

10 Dec 16#24
I see. So it boils down to whether the shop will let you do it? 679 for an RX100 IV with a bag and card. £200 off that would be pretty decnt

10 Dec 16#19
Watch out. The Amex T&Cs say you can't do this.

That means the transaction has to be for £150 or more to qualify for cash back. If you made three transactions of £50 each then you would not qualify for cash back even though you had spent £150 in total.

Nope, I'm referring to the M10 and M3. It's widely known that one of the biggest drawbacks of the budget mirrorless cameras is that they have slow autofocus. For a lot of people it's not an issue but for my needs it is. I'm not saying that all mirrorless cameras fall short in this respect, so it's nothing against the form factor. If I had the money I'd spring for a Sony A6000 or A6300 and a couple of lenses - I've nothing against CSC cameras.

Great justification.

You may be thinking of the original EOS M which had terrible autofocus issues until it was fixed with a software update. Nothing to do with the form factor

how it falls short if uses the same sensor as in the canon 100d...? Are you aware that many pro photographers use Sony and Fuji mirrorless camera systems as main camera...?

The quality is decent falls short of that of a dslr. If it was that high quality in such a compact form factor then no one would buy dslr's! The focusing issues are one of the reasons I passed on these.

Should be a very good camera for video recording (vlogging) as per older model

Our local Jessops closed, didn't realise they were still going, heat added
Paired with the 22mm f/2 you can take great photos indoors etc in a small package but have to say I'd hope that the EOS M3, which has better specs, would be this sort of price by now.

Iirc these had focus issues, and not great in low light. So fine for family photos outdoors, provided that your kids don't run around too much.

Would anybody recommend a different camera at a similar price? I'm guessing we could use the £100 off a £300 spend regardless of camera. It just means you won't get canon cashback.

Dslr quality? Nope. Good price for an OK camera. Lags well behind the competition but at this price it now has a great chance

A couple of years ago, I was torn between this and the Panasonic g5. I ended up going for the Panasonic, but still thought this was brilliant! A nice place between point and shoot cameras and dslr.
