Played this over the weekend on the free trial. The campaign was ok, I might pick it up for that when it hits £10, but after 3 games of MP I turned off and uninstalled. It's a backwards step from the fluid combat of BO3, and two steps back from Titanfall. It even makes BF1 feel run and gun. If BO3 gets some more updates, that will be my COD go to if I tire or TF2 and BF1

Good deal
It'll be sub £20 in the sales I think...this has bombed.
I think they would do well to take a leaf out of Ubisofts book and rest it for a year, ala Assassins Creed.

Not while they have three developers working on three games consecutively. Although that does lead to each CoD playing very differently to the previous years.

Yeah because the COD guys did the MW remaster the right way, didn't they...:smirk:
I'd rather the Ezio collection at £30 (3 games) than strap on one remaster for full price that you can't buy outside of the "Super hyper mega awesome" version of the latest COD release.
Take a break and stop the constant churning out of formulaic guff.

I didn't mean the guff comment about you - sorry if it came across like that. It was aimed at Activision
Also I am not picking sides, purely highlighting the fact that COD is now tired and could do with a break. Something that Ubisoft has realised with the AC franchise.

Well if you wanna wait, you are losing a lot. No point holding a retailer to one mistake they did.
Sinplygames had so many good deals over all these years and people will still buy from them coz they are reputable.
And to be honest if everybody stopped ordering from a retailer due to a mistake we wont have any retailers left :-)

How exactly have Ubisoft given Assassin's Creed a break? Just this year they have released those weird 2D AC games, an Assassin's Creed movie and a HD collection and that's just in 2016. If that's them taking a break then......

19 Dec 16#25
It still doesn't count as a rest for the franchise if they are still pumping out games and movies in the same year. Just because they aren't releasing massive budget AAA quality games doesn't mean they still aren't milking it. The only reason they even stopped those big budget AC games was because people were getting bored of the same old games year in year out and stopped buying them.
doncarlos83
19 Dec 161#26
That's exactly my point?!
People are bored with the same thing year after year. If Activison gave COD a rest for a year and actually concentrated on making it a better game, it might lift both sales and enthusiasm again.

They are still milking it. That's my point.

Hot. I don't know why people say this is a flop. It's sold more than any other FPS on console.
It's not the huge numbers of black ops 3 but that was a returning story arc. Week for week it's outselling Advanced warfare(the last new COD story arc).
It's a COD game nothing groundbreaking but if you like COD games chances are you'll probably like this one as well. Sledgehammers Games turn next year rumours are it's based on Vietnam.

I enjoy COD and hate this game! The maps are dire and that means the multiplayer will never be fun. The only other COD game I didn't like was Ghosts, again made by Infinity Ward. Activision should just let Treyarch make the COD games now as they are the only talented studio they have left.

It's a bit of an odd one this.
Every comment you read, people say it's bombed. Truth is, for a COD title, the sales are poor. But, as general game, it's outsold every other title out there, even Battlefield 1 which i personally think is the best FPS I've played in years. And I've played a lot of them!
I didn't like Infinite Warfare, I got lucky and got the Legacy edition fairly cheap so I could just have it for Modern Warfare.
But it's sales as a game, are up there above the competition. So, it's a little odd it's dropped this much so quickly.
Single player ain't bad, MP is whack though.
lomax to RebTheRebel
19 Dec 16#34
Might be as you say the sales being poor considering it's COD. Black ops 3 sold a lot more(BO3 still sold 3.8million on ps4 alone this year). Could be getting rid of the extra stock despite all signs pointing to sales being far lower this year.
For Activision having someone buy COD this year for cheap is better than them buying Battlefield 1 and realising it's better. It will make them far more likely to buy Battlefield again next time round. Better to have people keep buying COD out of habit.
Also there's all the micro transactions as many game have proved people are willing to spend a ludicrous amount of money on skins. More owners should prop up micro transaction reutrns.

Its signs of a dying franchise. Sure its dying slowly but it is dying as people realise the quality getting worse every year and there being much better games like Titanfall 2. You have to remember big franchises like COD don't die overnight. Same thing happened to Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero games which are now binned.

The talented members of Infinity Ward left after Modern Warfare 2 to form Respawn who have made the Titanfall games. Hence Modern Warfare 3, Ghosts and now Infinite Warfare have been rubbish.

I've never been a fan of the multiplayer in COD (not a fan of console multiplayer in general). I just like the spectacle of the campaign.
Despite them forcing you to sit through their intro video every damn time you start the game. Most people who buy COD games don't know or even care that games in the series are made by 3 different studios. I doubt most people that bought this differentiate infinity ward from treyarch or sledgehammer. Fewer still will know that Jason West and Vince Zampella left infinity ward(along with several of their people) to start Respawn. Sadly they've learnt the hard way that their names don't sell games no matter how good they make them.
I don't know what Activision had to pay in that settlement but it must be looking pretty damn cheap now next to the cost of a new studio setup and 2 failed AAA games!
